Vintage AMPROBE Clamp-On Voltage Current Tester Presenting for auction is a vintage AMPROBE RS-3 Ultra Clamp-On Voltage Current Tester. I believe the tester was produced in 1978 base on the included warranty card. This is an analog rotary scale clamp-on voltage and current tester and is in good condition. It primary test functions include: Current Test· Voltage Test The tester includes two test leads(black and red) and an ohmmeter battery/fuse attachment. This attachment requires an AAA battery and is included. I’m also including a copy of the operating instructions. I believe it is in working order but I do not have a way of testing it thoroughly. I am able to perform a zero adjustment on the scale plus get a current reading. I do not have a means of performing a thorough accuracy test though. One other thing I will point out is the two plastic screws holding the case halves together were broken. I was able to replace the screws with two white nylon ones. This is a great clamp on meter that I used in a prior job where I was working with large and very large air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. I needed to be able to accurately measure voltage and current. It also has the ability to measure DC resistance. A pair of high quality probes are included as is the carry case that has a belt loop on the back. The battery power is pretty low so it will need a new set to get it going. It uses a standard 9 volt battery. There is an arrow inside of the clamp ring to show which direction to clamp it on. The front of the meter would be the supply side.
