This is from a large group of antique foundry molds etc. that I will be listing over time. These came from the estate of a local man who purchased them years ago from a foundry in Menomonie. This foundry originated in 1898 as the Dunn County Iron Works where they produced castings for sawmills and brickyards. A couple of years later they became the Aetna Engine Works which produced gasoline powerplants for sawmills. In the 1910's the engine work was stopped and it became the Forster Foundry Company. In 1928 a floor drain was started but the depression/stock market brought an end to this. The company now operates as the Badger Iron Works. This is a really beautiful piece. It measures 9 inches tall. It has a wonderful scene on the bottom half and nice stenciling work at the top. Gailstyn Aluminum Candy Dish This is a pretty vintage candy dish by Gailstyn. Polished aluminum was considered'Poor Man's Silver' Back in the day and Gailstyn was one of the better makers. This dish is square-shaped, with nicely curled edges. A large chrysanthemum is surrounded by other smaller flowers in the center. The dish is 7" x 7" and stands 1 and 7/8s inches from the table top. It is hallmarked on the bottom with: Aluminum by"Gailstyn" The dish is still nice and shiny. There are only light surface scratches. But there are some dots on the surface of the finish that are darker than the surrounding area. These are not particularly noticeable, except upon close inspection. Antique cast iron miniature christmas tree stand and tree- 6 " square!!!
This is a wonderful 6 inch square antique cast iron christmas tree stand and paper white tree. The tree is not an old tree. The stand is art deco in style. It retains all of it's original paint which is green and it is highlighted with gold. Which has mostly disappeared and a brown cast iron tint shows through where the gold paint used to be. The stand is 6 inches square and the tree in the stand is 26 inches tall. It is just shy of 2 inches across the opening where the tree trunk is placed. The trunk is held in place by 3 screws that turn to tighted around the trunk. The mark on the bottom says"DEP" and"WI" If you purchase this tree the limbs of the tree will be bent upward and inserted in a long tube type box and when you open it you will need to bend the tree limbs back out.

On one of the gates the bottom post is missing, but it dies stand and move freely. One of the long sides is missing the center hook. These can be seen in the photos.
