Antique Sangamo Type H Electric Meter Cast Iron House / Home Watt
You Are Bidding On An Antique Sangamo Type H Electric Meter. It has a tag inside the glass dome it reads" A 4.8 Testing Constant 750" There is part of a paper label on the back but it mostly unreadable. The glass dome can be removed it is only attached by two threaded stems that run through the front of the glass. This is a very heavy metal meter I believe it is made of cast iron. I do not see any chips or cracks to the glass dome, but the metal meter is in need of some restoration, this is basically a what you see is what you get auction. I did not clean this meter I will leave that to the new owner. So don't wait to bid because I hardly ever list anything twice and when this item is gone, it's gone. I have no way of testing this meter to see if it works or not, but other than some old sticker at the very bottom of the glass front, everything about this meter seems original, still sealed and intact. Here is a large(11.5" W x 7" H x 6" D) Wappler Electric Co. meter. The meter is 0-4000 and is marker HIGH FREQUENCY and THERMOCOUPLE TYPE. MILLIAMPERES. Inside is a bank of bars marked' Globar Type B. 36 Ohms' There is some sort of communication cable attached. There is no glass on the meter face. The end of the communication cable looks broken. Nothing has been tested and I honestly don't fully understand what this thing even is. It must directly measure some kind of thermocouple, but I couldn't say what kind or how. Up for sale is an antique Cincinnati Time Recorder factory punch clock in VG vintage condition. Looks like is for 1 shift with overtime 7 days a week- a moving hand points to punch in in the morning. Punch out(and back in) for Lunch, then punch out for Night, and punch in and out for Overtime. With a 14 day drum(2 weeks of Monday thru Sunday) Patent no. 1441435 which puts it around 1920 I believe. Stepped metal cover over lots of gears and levers, all anchored to a 3/4" thick SOLID OAK wood back& base(back 16" X 20" and base 16" X 12" Cover with no dents or damage, round clock glass window excellent, some metal trim with rust, I don't have the key, the lock is in the unlocked position so cover comes off fine. The electric clock motor has been tested and runs fine, the various gears seem to move fine, the lever ... moreto punch card moves fine and rings the bell, and the large upper knob turns various gears and both clock hands fine(but note that after testing out various functions I came up to resistance, and have not forced anything as there is probably some kind of setting that needs to be made) As you can imagine is large and quite heavy, will be well packed for shipment.

Nor do I know if it works, which is why I listed as non-working-for parts. Research indicates this type meter was 1st made around 1915. Don't know if that is when this was made, all I know is it looks old. Research also indicates this meter consists of a hollow cast iron casting, finished in original enamel black finish. The reinforced glass case is held down with 2 original cast brass wing nuts. The cover swings out when access is needed to the terminals. Other than old looking. Meter appears to be in decent shape.
