According to the placard on the front of the unit, it is rated for 6 amps continuous in 6V mode and 10A continuous in 12V mode with potential to spike up to 20 amps. This auction is for a variable High Voltage DC Power Supply that will go up to 15kv at up to 10mA. I have load tested it at full voltage and full current and the AC ripple was less than 30mV! This power supply was made for powering CO2 lasers and can supply up to 150 watts of power continuously. It would be a great addition to a hobbyists lab for producing high voltage to create plasma. Drive an ion or electron gun, or, of course, drive a high powered CO2 laser. The insides consists of a variable auto-transformer(variac) that provides the input power to a sealed 0-15kV DC power supply. The output is Positive and is fed into a high voltage output lead that has a the inner conductor going to a small socket(for connection to a laser tube) and has an outer shield that is for grounding and has a small alligator clip. Electro-Technic Model 5000 Variable AC and DC Power Supply
For your consideration is a"working" Electro-Technic Products Model 5000 Variable Voltage Power Supply. It has power outputs in both AC and DC. You can see the specs on the front panel. I put the Fluke voltmeter(NOT INCLUDED) and measured both outputs in AC and DC and they went up and down with the dial. I am not guaranteeing the specs. Because as you know, a voltmeter is not supplying a load. But, it does vary in both the AC and DC modes with the dial. I assume this power supply is vintage, and I really don't see much like it around. Its a cute little unit, maybe more for a vintage display, or for messing around with voltages.
