I've only actively used it for about six months gigging maybe once a week or less. It was in my Furman case and I kept it covered in a nice soft shammy cloth when I packed her up. Already has the velcro on the bottom to plug right into your rig. This auction is for a Hewlett Packard 6286A DC Variable Power Supply 0-20V and 0-10A. This came in from a test facility that had some older equipment that they didn't need anymore. The only visu al thing I saw wrong with ... moreit is the meter is not flush. But goes in on one side. I opened the front panel and noticed a piece of plastic that should loop into the side of the meter inside was broken(pic 2) The other side is how it is suppose to be. With the curly lip going inside the meter and holding it securely. Can fix by getting a new black frame or maybe tape it, i f it really bothers you. I am not a technician. But I did plug it in and it fired up okay. Upon first powering up. Meter needle deflected to the right like it should have. Got a di gital multimeter and hooked up probes to unit. Turned the voltage knob and tuned it in close to 8 volts. Then use d the fine adjustment to get it right on 8V(pic 10) Did the sa me at the 12V mark( pic 11) and the 16V m ark(pic 12) You can dial in whatever voltage you need to test out a piece of equipm ent. Didn't want to mess with the Ampera ge because it is harder to measure. But should be okay. This one has a c alibration sticker that shows LAST DATE REP of 1-91. And sticker says CAL NOT REQUIRED. But I do know how to use the basic functions of a voltmeter and this unit appears to be working as it should I'm not sure what the know on the right does. But on one of the settings- all the outputs put out their advertised voltages. The voltages are variable as set by the knob on the left- it and the built in meter work great. The only issue I could find was that the ground on the bottom left set of posts didn't read as high voltage as the ground above it- the positive side works great if you use the upper ground post as shown in the pics. KEPCO BOP 100-1M Bipolar Variable DC Power Supply 4-Quadrant, American made!
This is a neat piece of equipment that I am selling. It is a 4 quadrant supply. Meaning it can sink and source current with a positive or negative output. It can act as a voltage or current source. Note that I have photos showing it operating in all four quadrants. Current/voltage can be programmed through 10 turn potentiometers on the front or as +-10V signals on the front. It has a bandwidth of about 1-2KHz(the oscilloscope photo shows it outputting a 100V 1KHz sinusoid) When I received this device it was missing the"PC-15" programming connector. This is a little jumper that goes on the back of the device that enables the front panel. I have constructed one(as can be seen in the photos) that works just as well as the original. You can buy a factory one from Kepco for about $100. I don't think it's worth it, personally, ... moresince the jumper I made(for about $2) works just as well. If you would like, I can also include for free another card edge connector in case you want to try programming the device from the back panel. or you can buy the PC-12 from Kepco for like $75- your choice! This front of this device looks pretty good and clean. A couple scuffs. But nothing bad. The meters are almost perfectly clear, except for a smudge on the voltage that does not effect use at all(barely worth mentioning) The top and bottom of the device show some signs of rust, as can be seen in the photos. Obviously, this does not effect functionality in any way whatsoever. So. As far as I can tell this device is 100% operational, and I will guarantee that for the first 15 days of ownership. If there are any specific tests you would like me to run on this device please let me know- I have a fairly complete lab and am happy to verify functionality for you. But as you can see I've already been pretty thorough in my testing of this device. Note that the only thing included will be the Kepco BOP 100-1M(as well as the fake PC-15 jumper I made) I have other pieces of test equipment in the photos that will NOT be included.
