Here is a good used CRT that fits Tek 500MHz 7904 and 250MHz 7704A. The 154-0640-05 has the normal P31 green phosphor. However, if you prefer, I will substitute 154-0644-10 which has the P11 blueish purple phopshor that Tek optimized for Polaroid photography(I have 1 of each, if you buy both you get 1 of each) Scopes that had P11 CRT were labeled"option 78" Last photo shows the P11 phosphor version working. Notice it looks rather more white than blue with the common blue filter in front of CRT whereas the P31 looks green even thru a blue filter. TEKTRONIX 2465A 4chan 350MHz analog OSCILLOSCOPE refurbed and freshly calibrated
2465A was Tek's high end portable scope from 1986 to 1988. It cost $6000 new. But you can now get it for a tiny fraction, working as well as new. 2465A was successor to best selling 2465 and predecessor to 2465B. 2465A added: keeping track of hours on, auto-scaling(idiotproof button) and front panel knob setting(setups) memory. I find not keeping track of hours by plain 2465 to be a serious drawback(you wouldn't want 1 that racked 262000 hours in its 30 years existance by being left on all the time, or even with 66000 hours if it was left on 1/4th the time) Scopes I sell have clocked less than 20000 hours. For 2465A that works out to no more ON than about 1/10th of the time. Another serious drawback of plain 2465 is a no longer made fan. 2465A uses a still available fan, and I do replace them as bearings wear. The spectrum analyzer covers from 1 to 500 mhz This is a Tektronix/Sony model 323 portable oscilloscope along with the rare matching model 1401A spectrum analyzer adapter. Original manuals are included also. These units are in good physical condition and they do power up as can be seen in the pictures. I do not have AC power cords for these and so I powered them from an external DC supply for testing. Internal batteries will likely need to be replaced. The"clock hands" of the fine tuning control on the 1401A are broken but the control does function. This is a great combination if you have need for a small spectrum analyzer and/or oscilloscope. This unit is in an excellent cosmetic and working condition. It was tested for functionality of all the switches. Functions etc. and for the accuracy of readings of time/frequency, voltage, and the bandwidth. There is no issues of any sort, all the specifications are as per manufacturers' specifications. The quality of the design of this model and the actual realization of the ideas implemented is still something to marvel upon. The inputs are selectable 50 Ohm or 1 MOhm; 50 Ohm input has bandwidth of 350 MHz; while 1 MOhm is 250 MHz. Both of those were way above in the testing of this unit) 50 Ohm input will switch itself off if overloaded. The time base division goes down to 1 ns; the writing speed is 3 div/ns. The wide bandwidth of this oscilloscope is suitable for all kind of various measurements. Using components two or three times higher rated than needed, however in case of repair, although there are some Tektronix ICs inside, majority of components are generic components that can be bought in any electronic store. Transistors are not soldered at the boards, they slide in their holders, so replacement of the transistors doesn't involve soldering. Highly recommended for any electronic project.
