Vintage RCA TM 868 Service Monitor Test Meter Two Way 50uA DC Current Meter
RCA was in the two way business years ago. Here is a Vintage Test meter used for tuning up the radios and is called for in many of the tuning instructions. This meter is a 50 uA. panel meter with all the switch positions and cables to test both the receiver and transmitter. These meters were made by RCA and looks very clean. The plastic enclosure is crack and chip free and the meter appears just as nice as the face is not scratched or chipped. The meter needle swings back and forth without binding and comes back to 0. The handle is in nice condition and the wires and connectors are in great shape. Cushman Model CE-6 Service / Communications Monitor Works. Scope and Deviation
This auction is for a Cushman model CE-6 service monitor. This has a built in synthesized signal generator which covers from about 10Khz up to 999.9999 MHz. The accuracy seems good but it hasn't been calibrated.The crystal reference oscillator oven works fine. The generator is used with the broadband mixer for"receiving" from 20 to 10000MHz. You can use either the 301A scope plug-in or the 302 FM deviation meter plug-in to measure FM deviation of your transmitter. Everything works fine except for the lowest 1.5 KHz frequency centering range. I believe that it's probably a dirty adjustment pot for this range. The CE-5 manual shows a pot for each of the three ranges. I didn't attempt to fix this. This works great for checking the sensitivity of receivers. Note the generator needs an external 40dB attenuator(not supplied) ... morefor testing sensitivity in the low microvolt range. I don't have a manual for the CE-6 but the manual for the CE-5 which is fairly similar can be downloaded from the BAMA site. I'll include a model 313 AM monitor module which I couldn't test. Th length of this module is shorter than the FM monitor and scope(see picture) It apparently needs a plug extension or cable(I'm really not famaliar with these units) The overall cosmetic condition is"good" the panels are very good. The cabinet has quite a few scuffs and scratches but nothing serious. A few of the controls are a bit noisy. This is a basic service monitor but it does everything you need(including PL deviation) for checking commercial and ham transceivers. Marconi 2955A Radio Communication Test Set with IEEE-488 interface option. As you can see in the photos. It passes all self tests. I really don't know much about these, as I'm an IFR guy(but this is an IFR labeled unit) This was purchased out of a factory calibration lab storage area as surplus. The face does have some marks from old cal stickers and such, but overall seems to be in good condition. It does have the IEEE-488 interface. I don't know about any other options.
