Up for bids is the Heathkit Amateur Radio VFO model HG-10. This VFO covers the 80. 40, 20, 15, 10, 6, and 2 meter bands. Its designed to operate with the Heathkit DX-60, DX-60B, HW-16, and probably a few others. Switches are all smooth and operate fine. The knobs are in good original condition and none is cracked or broken. The plastic rotating scale works fine and there are no cracks in the plastic scale. The slide rule dial pointer and tuning mechanism work properly. The gears and shafts were carefully lubed and they all turn freely and are very clean. The tubes are tested and each is good. The case is clean. There are a few stray scratches, but overall, it is in good shape. There is light rust pitting or corrosion at the top left corner, it is visible in the photos, but its not severe. I thoroughly cleaned the VFO inside and out, but I ... moremade on effort to sand away or otherwise remove the corrosion. The front panel is very clean. The knobs are also very clean and in excellent condition. The dial frame was removed, cleaned and reattached. The bottom and bottom feet are clean originals. The power cord is in good condition. Its 8-pin plug was rusted, it too was cleaned up-I used a wirebrush. The RCA jack for RF Output and the 1/4 inch jack for a Key on the rear chassis apron are also in good condition. The winning bidder could use it just like it is or easily replace the plug. Bid on the vintage VFO by Heathkit for your own Ham Rig.
