When we tested item it just hummed and did not move When we test with motor pulled off it seems to work The motor jogs forward and reverse. The motor homes but keeps spinning probably cause all the wires are not hooked up. since motor works when not hooked up I assume one or more of the heads is stuck and needs work or rebuilt Item is still a bargain as it can be repaired and still save tens of thousands of dollars instead of a new purchase. This system runs on a 120V 15A circuit and is currently setup to drive 4 DC servo motors. 1 as a spindle. The controller is 6 axis step and direction and has 0-10V analog, PWM, and step/dir spindle control options. It is an Ethernet based controller capable of 2Ghz step pulses per axis. This system was designed a little overkill for a Syil/Seig X3 milling machine with a direct drive setup, and should not have any issues running a Bridgeport knee mill. This kit comes with 3 boxes(4 including computer) and all wiring. Motors, encoders, and home switches. Gecko G540 cnc controller with stepper motors and cables.
Hello. Up for bid is a used Gecko G540 cnc controller which I purchased from Camtronics 2years ago. This is a complete 2 axis setup I used for my sherline lathe and also my G0704 Grizzly mill. Specs on drive can be found at Gecko website. An optic sensor was installed for RPM/spindle speed used via Mach 3 software. A small magnet is needed and glued to spindle/chuck for sensor feedback. You would also need to fabricate your own bracket to mount sensor. A touch probe also use for finding center. Height setting etc.was also installed. The stepper was purchased 3 months ago and has approx 20hrs of use so I had not soldered wires together. Spindle mount- This was an add on to the spindle purchase and cost an additional USD $75 from the spindle manufacturer. Techniks ER20 inch collet set Model number 04210IS. This is the same set as called out in current auction 110884102352. Please note that the image shown in their auction is for the ER16 set. Their description and price is correct. Now. To why I am selling this set. This is an amazing spindle/controller/collect set. When I purchased the items I had not received my CNC machine ... moreyet. I had purchased a High-Z model 400S for a project I was working on. When coupled to the High-Z machine I discovered that this spindle is at the absolute limit as to what the 400S can handle weight wise. During the warm summer months the steppers lose torque and the Z axis would sometimes skip steps. This obviously ruins parts. As a result I have moved to a lighter spindle/router. The new router does not cause the steppers to skip and parts are much easier to produce. This spindle is large/heavy and water cooled. The spindle I now use is air cooled and weighs about 3#s. This spindle weighs about 28#s. My new spindle also does not accept ER20 collets. This combination of parts is amazing but unusable to me because of the above mentioned problems I suffered. The total investment I have in these parts is approximately USD $1450. I am willing to let this set go for USD $1200. Please don't ask for me to break up the set as I'm not willing to do that at this point. If you have any questions I'd be more than happy to answer them.
