Vintage 1960's Era Bell System Orange Lineman Test Rotary Phone: This is a very interesting rotary telephone used by utility workers up on the phone lines for testing purposes. These phones were company property and not sold to the public. The phone itself is about 5 pounds and made very well to take the abuse they were endured. The back of the phone features a rotary dial 0 through 9 along with the corresponding numbers they represent. The dial still works perfectly and is free of any major flaws. There is also an oval shaped hand grip made of cork& at the bottom a clamp to attach to a belt buckle loop. On the right of the phone is a white on/off switch. The front side of the phone has the traditional ear& mouth piece and the handle is inscribed with the words"Bell System Property Not For Sale Western Electric. The phone ... moreis 2 pieces held together by 2 screws on the back. The entire phone is colored in bright orange usually to match the workers vests. Also it's hard to lose something so bright. The bottom of the phone has both the negative& positive wires as well as the clamps. Lastly the original box is included& stamped with the date Feb. 9 1987.
