This is a used Metrotech 650 cable locator. It comes in a Ditch Witch Subsite 75R/T case and comes with the Ditch Witch locator video. It works good. Locates the cable great. See the video below. I tested it on my service to my garage. The video only shows it inside the garage. But I did test it outside where the cable is underground, and it worked. This setup also includes a Metrotech induction clamp and the Subsite 75T transmitter for locating unpowered cables or pipes. I tested it on a cable in my garage and it worked well. For the bad part. And the reason why this is offered so inexpensively, someone left batteries in the transmitter, and they have leaked and corroded the battery terminals. I cleaned it out(the pictures are after the cleaning, still can be cleaned more) and replaced a metal terminal with a homemade copper one, and wire ... morebrushed the other contacts, and put batteries in it, and everything works as it should. But, it is kind of McGivered up. With that being said, it is only the battery box that got affected, and the metal plates that go between batteries come out with one screw if they ever need to be changed out again. Plus, This transmitter can be run off from a car battery through the port next to the induction clamp port, so if it ever fails through the"D" batteries, you can still power it with a car battery, or a homemade"D" cell battery box through that port. It is used. And has dirt, paint, scratches, etc, but works well.
