Tucker Davis Technologies PLX1 Data Acquisition System? For sale- a pair of Tucker Davis Technologies rack mount pieces. I am going to call them a Data Acquisition system because perhaps it might actually be that, I don’t know. Other than that I can’t even come up with a guess what they might be for. So even if my description completely misses the mark. You are buying the two rack mount units pictured, whatever they might be. I have had these for at least several years. They got set aside and forgotten because there wasn’t anything on either piece in the way of a brand name or a model number. Tough to look something like that up. But as part of the great basement clean up they are finally up for sale. As you can see both cases are plexi. So you can see right through the back. Even then I didn’t come up with much. Until I looked off to the ... moreside. There is one small board mounted on the inside side of each. And that says Tucker Davis Technologies on it. So at least the manufacturer part of the puzzle is solved. Both pieces are in good physical condition with the exception of the upper one being missing a chunk of the rack mount flange. Clearly visible in the picture. Both can hold four 4” plug-in modules; one has four. The other has three. One of the plexi racks has PLX1 on it. The other has nothing. The plug-ins are identified as FLT3. PA3, PA3, and SW1 in the top rack and GNS40, ADD1, and HBUF3 in the bottom rack. I don’t know if the two racks comprise a complete system or just part of it. They only have computer type connections on the back. So they have not been tested in any way. If you pay the asking price and find that they have a problem you cannot live with within seven days of receipt you may return them for a refund of the purchase price. We fired up the Nicolet programs and they seemed to start with no warnings and no crashes if we started both programs at the same time. Starting them on their own did not allow them to load properly. There is some minor damage to the outer chassis where it looks like someone put something heavy on the unit and it buckled under the weight. This blemish is probably in inch long and does not mishape the chassis enough to prevent it from being a rectangle anymore. The screen also shows an area where it was pressure put on it and the protective layer on the screen is depressed onto the LCD. However there are not any broken pixels or spots on the screen ... morethat do not work. As far as hardware goes you will find 2x LV 150 Amplifier cards. 1 CPU Card(w/9 pin Com port and RJ-45 Port) an additional 2x 9 Pin Com ports, Parallel Printer Port, SCSI 2 Port, Clock& Trigger jacks, Marker 1-16/Remote Control jack, and a Marker 17-32 jack.
