This is an unusual bakelite(catalin) fish thermometer. It measures approximately 4 3/4 inches long and 3 inches high. The thermometer no longer works(it's marked Made in the U.S.A. B.T. CO. N.Y. with the numbers 2TCU5B to the left) There is a line on the back where the hanger was nailed in(see picture) that appears to be a crack but does not run deep enough to be seen from the side. This vintage advertising piece has the second slogan from RC Best By Taste-Test which was first used in 1941 and has a in-cut thermometer. Inside the thermometer show the manufactors name of Mirro Products Co. High Point N.C. The mirro measure approx 9 x 12 inches. Tho this is not in mint condition it is extremely hard to find unbroken and orginial with the Best by taste test slogan. A nice addition for the RC collector. 1960s Royal Crown Embossed Thermometer - Must See - Mint
1960's Royal Crown Cola Embossed Thermometer I don't list many items as"must see" But if you collect Royal Crown items, I think you will like this one. It is one of the nicest RC thermometers I have seen. From the 1960's with the embossed bottle and red diamond at the top with the name. Never has been hung, the corners are perfect. Straight, no dents. The lines you see in the thermometer in the picture are stress lines when the embossing was done. Thermometer works great. The man I bought it from said he found it in the drawer of a china cabinet. It has a few minor blemishes mainly on the corners where the corners were rolled to make it.
