Late 2011 Apple MacBook Pro 13.3" i7 Laptop - Water Damaged (Parts/Repair)
The MacBook is in good cosmetic condition with some minor scuffs and scratches from everyday use(I tried to show them to the best of my abilities in the pictures above) Water leaked from a plant pot onto a part of the computer. Damaging a portion of the logic board(see picture-there was a little of general corrosion and a couple of components look damaged) Although I tried to clean/dry the computer properly, it will not boot up. Apple suggested replacing the logic board for around $600. The battery works and charges. As visible by the indicator lights on the side of the computer, and the power adapter also shows the orange/green charging lights. From what I could confirm with another machine, the optical drive, hard drive, and RAM are all functional. Apple also informed me that the display and keyboard do not need to be replaced. Also there are 3 small cracks in the top at the sound hole. 2 are right by the neck very short. The other is a little longer on the other side of the sound hole(see pics) Add a bridge and strings and I think this would be an OK playing guitar with a good action. I am only selling what is shown in the pictures. There are no cords or dials. The larger one has a diameter of about 5 in. and the smaller 4-1/4 in. Both movements made in Springfield. IL and not in Connecticut, which I believe means they are pre-1932, since the company GTI, based in Connecticut, took over the Sangamo-Hamilton company in 1931 and started putting Connecticut on the labels(Info from sangamoclocks.com) From what I hear and just by looking at the movements they are pretty mechanically intricate and unique movements. They are very cool for someone who likes old things and unique engineering. I wish I could keep them to tinker with but I need the money. As far as things ... morebeing broke on them. Vintage 1982 Sanyo Boombox M 9860 needs repair
Vintage Sanyo 9860 boombox from 1982. Actually has a date of manufacture sticker of 07/09/82. This thing is rad looking but needs some work to be a true ghetto blaster. I opened it up ad found that the cassette players belt had broken. Thus no cassette. Also the right speaker has incredibly low volume. The radio functions very well as does the left speaker. The RCA input works well too I ran my ipod into it! The battery terminals are corroded so I did not test the battery power. It has a built in power cord that works. The battery cover, the antenna, all knobs and switches are present and functioning. There is some slight pitting of the chrome on the antenna. Great item for repair or display.
