Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi PCI Fatal1ty FPS (SB0466) Sound Card & I/O Drive
Up for sale is a used SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatal1ty(Fatality) FPS sound card. I've been using this card for years. And recently swapped it out for a PCIe model, as it's becoming difficult for me to find motherboards with a PCI slot. Here's what's included: SB0460 soundcard SB0250 I/O drive Cable for I/O drive(2) MIDI adapter cables Remote control Software discs& manuals I've been using the card since Windows XP. Up through Windows Vista(x86 and x64! and now to the end of Windows 7. Admittedly, the drivers that Creative published for Vista/7 don't work as well as they did with XP, but it was never a problem. It's worked great for a variety of tasks; I've had it hooked up to a 5.1 system by the 3.5mm outputs(into RCA cables) and using it with optical TOSLINK for output, and have also used the headphone output ... moreand mic input extensively for podcasting. I've also wired in a switch to the front of the I/O drive(as seen in the bottom-right corner) in order to switch between mics. Without going into too much detail, I was regularly switching between mics, and the jumper on the I/O drive(JP1) is used to switch between them(see the manual reference at) so I was constantly shutting down the PC. Removing power, sliding out the I/O drive, plugging it back on and powering it on. The switch toggles back/forth between the two settings, and can be changed as long as there's no mic plugged in to the front input. It's solid and works fine, if you need the extra functionality it's EXTREMELY handy, but if not you can just leave it alone(or flip it around absent-mindedly if you don't even use the input) Everything is in good shape, as seen in the photos. The bracket on the card has some wear on the top from being screwed/unscrewed so many times, but other than that it all looks really good. The MIDI cables and remote have never been used, and are still in their plastic wrap. You'll want to get the latest software/drivers from Creative's website, since it will be MUCH more up
