Begonia Wanda rhizomatous, terrarium/humidity loving
Begonia Wanda has silvery leaves covered with red plush hairs. Dark green veins and has pink flowers. Wanda loves humidity and does well in a large terrarium. I grow my starter plants in trays with capillary matting and Wanda does very well, but my plant growing area is quite humid. I think if you want to grow her outside of a terrarium you should put her on a humidity tray or on matting. The first photo is of a starter plant in a 2 1/2" pot similar to the one you will receive. The second is of Wanda in a large bubble bowl. Your plant will be ready to pot up into a bigger pot, say a 3" or 4" pot. I ship on Mondays and Tuesdays. You are bidding on a mid-century. Vintage Taylor Instrument Companies weather station that includes Temperature, Humidity and a Stormguide(Barometer) It was made in Rochester, NY. The wood frame is made of genuine mahogany and is in excellent condition. It has a circular adjustment on the back where you can adjust the barometer to take into account the surface altitude of your location. The feet appear to be brass or brass colored metal and are in very good condition. It has a great retro look and would make a very nice display piece. It appears to work but I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the device, due to its age.

Here is a Weather Station from Sunbeam. It has all three(3) gauges inside a wooden frame. Each gauge is gold plated beginning with the top. Thermometer, the middle one is the Barometer, and the bottom reads Humidity. It frame measures 7" x 16" The gauges are circular embossed inside octagon gold plated metal frames. Curiously, on the back there appears to be a sticky substance on each corner that I have covered with paper. Not certain what it is to be honest. Feels like glue. There is a key below the middle Barometer setting which to set it. I don't have the instructions. This is a smoke free home.

Antique Weather Station Barometer Thermometer Humidity 1800s Brass Inlay Bird& Foliage Design Note: All items in our store include NO sales tax to our US customers! Here is a great piece for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself. Not sure of the age or maker of this weather station. My best guess is the piece is from the late 1800s to early 1900s and I would suspect it was made in England. But could be German or American as well. The weather station has a great looking wood case to it. The case may be made of walnut or a cherry. But not sure so you be the judge. The scrolling at the top of the station and the little brass finial give it a great look. A piece of the scroll veneer is missing on the left front scroll. The two side wood trim pieces that would have ... moretied in to the scroll front is not there as well. There probably was ta trim front and two side pieces to case just below the level that is no longer there. I do observe two hairline splits to the wood case on the left side of the barometer face. The brass inlay that goes around the whole perimeter of this case is very eye catching. The design is of birds and foliage. The thermometer has red liquid in it that goes all the way to the top. So appears to not be working anymore. There were probably wood end trim caps on the convex piece of glass. That glass over the barometer is intact. The humidity dial has its' needle in it. Not sure if operational or not. The barometer has no mercury in the glass tubes you access from the rear of the case, so it certainly is not operational either. The two glass tubes in the back of the weather station appear to be intact. The top 1.5" of the long tube is jagged, not sure if broken or made that way. The wood door over the back area is still securely attached to the case by it's two hinges and the two latches that hold the rear door closed are there as well. The level on the bottom of the station is still operational where it says. W

The clock ran for one day without stopping before I stopped it on purpose to clean it for this auction. The ink pens are dry you have to replace them. The barrel spins by the clock. You need chart paper or make your own. There is a clip system so you can attach homemade charts if you want.
