Tektronix 496P Spectrum Analyzer Good condition. Tested and operational. 1KHz to 1.8GHz A typical Tektronix 496P in good condition. Unit is operational. All controls functional. Good sensitivity, display bright, clear and focused. I am selling this for a friend and only basic checks have been done but it looks good and passes basic tests. I ran it for 24 hrs without problem, fan is strong and quiet, display solid. Pictures show calibration signal at 100MHz +20dbm after warmup using factory calibration port. Front and rear panels in good condition showing some wear but nothing serious. Handle works as it should, no missing parts, case in very good contion. This unit has the newer power supply version with better specs than the original model and no cap problems. Unit has been tested for: Basic operation, calibration, shock, environment and ... moreother possible failure modes but, since it's not mine and I have not personally used it, it is being sold"as is" no warranty. For those of you who are not familiar with this analyzer. It features nearly automatic control of major settings using three control knobs and the system microprocessor. On screen readout and high def CRT. The"496x" line are programmable and feature GPIB remote operation and programming as well as plotter/printer output. Some small scratches and rubs but that's about all. Nothing serious, mostly on back. No missing parts, includes power cord and complete set of manuals on CD including Operator's, Service Vol 1& 2, TEK notes, Calibration procedure and general tips and service hints. All in all. A nice instrument. As with all electronics of this type, there is no warranty other than DOA. Even though I know it will leave here in good, operational condition, there is no way of telling what happens to it after it leaves or, when it arrives. Yet another unit#2 unit has feet and a handle the handle will need some repair as it has broken away from the inner retainer on one side but still locks into various positions. all normalizations were recently run and passed the crt is clear and bright(sorry if the camera doesn't do justice) these normalizations are internal tests which were recently run and is in very good shape.I have tested the controls and buttons on this unit too. Have I can copy the service manual if my copy costs are paid. I am sure many of the buyers of units that don't show the unit passing all the normalizations tests know just how dissapointing equipment like that is when they paid over a 1000$ for the unit! Tektronix changed something with the 2710 models over previous models it now by doing such tests provides ... morea very accurate assessment of the unit automatically by doing a minor recalibrating of itself so you don't have to trained in how to test these units to know the condition. If you ever want to see what condition your 27xx is in let it warm up properly then go to the utility menu(by pressing Util button) and select normalizations then select all normalizations if your unit passes all normalizations then it is in pretty good shape but to find any sections that fail this type of test you select the service normalization section of the menu and it will display for each section what failed or passed. FLUKE 45 4.5 digit DMM with GPIB option,14 day guaranty working correctly
Most items I sell for over $600 and I refurb. Re-cal, guaranty them for 90 days. This one might not sell if I invest the extra effort and charge over $600 for it, so it has a buy-it-now price of only $459, and did not(or only partially) benefit from my value adding services just mentioned. It has a starting bid of only $349, so either way good luck! This was a high end benchtop meter. Perhaps the only one with dual display to simultaneously measure 2 quantities, such as DCV and AC ripple riding on it, or ACV and frequency. This specimen, serial 5665107, has options 5(GPIB) I don't have a book for this instrument. But it is easy to figure out, or download it from the net. First photo shows 45 measuring voltage of a standard mercury calomel cell as 1.0189. Perfectly normal considering cell is 40 years old. 2nd photo shows it measuring resistance ... moreof a 75 ohm feedthru terminator. 3rd photo shows dual display of a 50V 60Hz signal from an HP 6920B(not part of this sale) 4th photo is view from the rear. 5th photo is view from top.
