I can see a faint trace on part of the roll so it has been used but for many applications will function as new. Early flight recorders used high temperature foil as a fire resistant recording medium. The alloy has an extremely high nickle content making it highly corrosion and heat resistant as well as very expensive and quite difficult to source if you happen to need some. it makes for very light weight heat shielding for model aircraft and rocketry applications. And I suspect it could be used as cheap anode material for some types of electrochemical cell. Acorn Electron, BBC Model A/B, Tandy/Radioshack TRS 80, etc. This cassette recorder is missing the plastic viewing window(see photo) This cassette recorder is in original condition with no repairs or modifications. It have been tested using an audio cassette to make sure it is playing at the correct speed. The mic and ear sockets have also been tested and work perfectly. These are needed to load and save software. The built mic is also tested and working perfectly also. Like with a lot of classic cassette players. The volume is a little scratchy when adjusting the volume but the volume control does work. The overall condition is good. Just missing the plastic viewing window. A few cosmetic scratches but ... morenothing terrible(see photos) Can be used for playing and recording audio cassettes. It can use a 6VDC power supply. A universal power supply should work fine(not supplied) or the official Sony power supply is a AC-E616 6VDC 250mA(again not supplied) Can also use 4 x AA type batteries.
