DWORSHAK STATE PARK

Description
Dworshak State Park is located among trees and meadows on the western shore of Dworshak Reservoir. The park is comprised of three units - Freeman Creek, Three Meadows Group Camp, and Big Eddy Lodge and Marina.

Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and water-skiing are just some of the many activities that await park visitors. A boat ramp and handling dock provide easy launching most of the year. A fish-cleaning station is nearby to help with the day's catch.

Dworshak Reservoir, found in central Idaho along the North Fork of the Clearwater River, is located in scenic forested and mountainous country. Popular activities include swimming, ... moreboating, fishing, hunting, water-skiing, camping, hiking and lots more. At a height of 717 feet, the dam is the highest straight-axis gravity dam in North America, as well as one of the most dramatic in appearance. The Dworshak National Fish Hatchery is the largest steelhead trout hatchery in the world. Lewis and Clark camped in the area, where they rested from their trip over the Bitterroot Range and built canoes for their trip on to the Pacific Ocean. The reservoir is over 600 feet at its deepest point.

Now we are switching gears and are headed up on Dworshak for more great catching! At the moment Kokanee catching has been pretty good on days when the sun is out and weather patterns ... moreare stable. As spring finally arrives and days get warmer catching will just get even better! Smallmouth Bass catching will really start heating up in April when water temps heat up a little. The way our Spring has been going, shouldn't take much for the water to start warming. Currently we have been experiencing day time high's in the 60's or close to it. A bit warmer then normal.
