Please read this description and review and examine all the pictures before placing any bids on this item. I have had this power supply in my possession since 2000. I bought this for a project that I never did get around to doing. It has been inside of dry storage of an warehouse for the past 12 years. I have not used it. It is made in Melville. L.I. NEW YORK from the back information plate lettering of silk screen printing that was done at the factory. This power supply is in very nice condition. It has been lightly used. With only some scratch marks on the bottom from being moved around in it's storage days. There are a few scratches on the top left edge of the case from being handled and that is all of the marks on the ... moreother sides of this case that I could find. The front panel is in nice usable shape with all the hand tighten screw on terminals present and the Phillips/Standard-head screws are all in great shape with no rounding out of the heads of the screws. The voltage adjustment screw works and does limit how high the voltage goes as you adjust the screw. The only thing I could find wrong is that are a few areas on the front face where the paint has worn away and the metal is slightly exposed and you can see this in the photos of the front face. All the sides of the casing seems to be in great shape with some small marks. There is a few areas where the factory paint has come off and there are a small bit of surface rust on there areas, please see the photos. The front of the case has a terminal block. It looks to have been used lightly as there there is only a slight amount of dust. All the ventilation holes on the top. Side, and bottom are all clear and clean and are not damaged in any way. Fluke 408B 6-kV Precision DC High-Voltage Power Supply--Tested good!
This is a Fluke 408B high-voltage power supply. It is in excellent condition. The inside of the case is very clean. Nearly dust-free-important for good heat dissipation-indicating that it has been treated well and that the components, all things considered, are in good condition. The indicates that this power supply can source up to 20 mA. Which is a lot for a high-voltage supply. It has extremely low ripple(less than 1 mV RMS) and high stability(+/ 0.005% per hour after warm-up) It's a milspec-rated instrument, so is not delicate. As you can see from the photos. The power supply reaches both voltage limits and is accurate for intermediate voltages, at least to the limit of my meter(+/1000 volts) At low voltages, the output is ~0.4 volts too high. If that's a problem, it can be calibrated out; the pot is accessible without opening ... morethe case. I will include the appropriate cable connector. A few feet of hv coax cable, and a manual for the Fluke 410B, which is the +/10kV version of the 408B. I saw that someone is selling the 408B manual on this site, if that's of interest. This power supply weighs 59 pounds and is pointy. I am asking for extra handling time to pack it correctly.
