Bought from a working shop, I've plugged it in, tested as I could, here it is telling me the tube out of my TransOceanic is leaking and dead, but everything seems to be working properly, lights light, dials dial or click, toggles toggle, no damage, cord is clean and supple, no cracks, ready to be put to work. Vintage 1954 Heathkit Oscilloscope model OL-1 test equipment WORKS
You will be bidding on a vintage 1954 Heathkit Oscillscope. I do not know much about these. Except that this model was introduced in Aug 1954 and made in Benton Harbor, Mich USA. When this one is plugged in the green light does come on, and it will change with the turns of the knobs. It works on both settings in the back- the internal and the external. The case does have a few scuffs and scratches, also a light layer of dust. All the knobs are in place, except for the lower left hand red one, which I have replaced with a electrical cap. Available for auction is a very nice Aerovox Capacitor Tester and Resistance Bridge. This device would make an excellent addition to one's vintage radio workshop. Over all. The unit is in very good shape. I have tried it and it works surprisingly well. The only fault I can find with it is the fact that the power cord is quite worn and should be replaced. Likewise, as is the case with all vintage electronics of this era, it may be wise to replace the paper and electrolytic capacitors. Over all, it's a beautiful example of an early piece of service equipment and it would make a beautiful addition to any antique radio collection or antique radio service bench. I am downsizing due to age and health and must let go of this and other items. It should make a fun and enjoyable piece for other vintage radio enthusiasts. No further testing has been done. Please see ALL photos closely. Unit does show some"grime" scratching, scuffing, some dirt and some minor rust. Does have 2 tags(photos 9& 10) that are tied to handle with string. Yellow tag is an inspection check tag that shows serial number and other calibration/inspection information. The red tag(should be readable in photo) reads: NOTICE. The 2 screws found in the rear of the case are used primarily for protection of the R.F. assembly in transportation. These may be removed when the instrument is permanently located. Those 2 screws appear to be there. Vintage 0 to 30Amp D.C. Bench Top Test Equipment, Nice Antiquated Item.
Up for auction is what appears to be a piece of vintage classroom/bench-top electrical D.C. amp test equipment complete with a pair of test leads attached. The meter itself is quite large at 3 ½” in diameter so you won’t have to“squint” while running your tests. If this equipment was homemade then it was certainly done by a professional. Testing isn’t easily accomplished by me because all I have is a 15vdc power supply. I used a 47ohm resistor in series with the 15vdc and at least caused the needle to move a bit proving that it does work; although the resistor got hot fast!
