HEWLETT PACKARD 5381A 80MHZ FREQUENCY COUNTER This unit was tested with a ~5MHz input. My pulse generator is not calibrated. Therefore between my uncalibrated generator and the uncalibrated 5381A, there could be some variance. There is some discoloration on the front face plate. If you have some cal stickers to apply. This will not be as noticable, but the important aspect is that the unit is working. The ON/OFF button sticks a little when you want to turn it OFF, but by pulling on the button a little, the button will come out and the unit will turn off. Does not come with power cord or cables.

I'm losing about 2/3 of my workshop to the remodeling of our basement. No need to ask who idea this was. So. I'm having to sell off my collection of nice working HP test equipment. For you consideration is my very nice 5381A 80MHz counter. The picture shows it measuring the crystal oscillator frequency in my Kanga US 6 meter ham converter. The inaccuracy you see is the crystal itself. Not the counter. I will guarantee frequency accuracy at 43MHz. I wish I had a higher frequency crystal that I could demonstrate the accuracy. If you look at other seller's 5381s you'll see the usual" I don't know how to check it further" But they seem to think it's worth $200. Need NIST trackable certification for an additional $200? I doubt it. But if you do I'll bet you have a $2000 Agilent counter. This 5381A has a clean ... morefront panel with no scratches, dings, dents, dried up masking tape, or other flaws. There is the name"Sullivan" engraved on the back. I'll bet Sullivan got tired of other engineers running off with his counter so he engraved it. He, I guess it was Sullivan, put a sticker on the bottom indicating the gate time when using an external oscillator frequency of 16.666kHz. This is still a very usable piece of high quality HP equipment. Made when HP meant something. Included with the counter is a CD of the official Agilent operator and service manual. No other ebay seller provides a copy of the manual. I'm sorry but no probes or power cord are included. The power cord is a standard type used with computers. The counter will fit in a USPS medium flat rate box and will ship insured with delivery confirmation. First Of All That Is Just A Little Tape Residue On The Top Lip In Front. There Are No Power Cords. There Is A Note On One That States That It Does Not Display Frquency. HP 5381A Frequency Counter VERY accurate!!
HP 5381A Frequency Counter Up for auction is a very accurate HP 5381A counter. The Schlumberger counter in the pictures IS calibrated and I have adjusted the HP to match it. The first picture is measuring 10 Mhz. Then 23 Khz, then 25 Mhz. As you can see it is right on the money! The display window had some type of coating that is mostly peeled off otherwise it is really nice shape. It has a small footprint it measures 10" x 6 1/2" x 3 1/2" And is under 5 lbs.
