The edging i s made of very in teresting metal thread s. Intricate pattern. Both ends have soft. 4 inch(10 cm) striped fringe. Total length 5 ft 4 ins. 1.6 2 meters) and width 15 inches(38 c entimeters) Material is cotton. With silk thread used in the brocade to give the design a sheen. I believe the vintage to be about 1850. All stitching is tight. Edging is complete. Backing is perfect. I did not take it apart to see the underside of the brocade w hich was crafted by experts. The brocade pattern is of a basket of flowers and wreath. In which t he particular flowers each have me anings. That would have been understood at the time this piece was made. This wonderful pi ece may have been originally a gift for new home. Or celebration of new marriage. For your consideration is a modern reproduction(modern polyester/lycra materials are used) of the retro/classic late 80's/early 90's Z cycling team jersey and bib shorts. Which Greg LeMond wore to winning the TdF in 1990. The jersey is a summer-weight Men's size Medium(about a 37-39 inch chest) Features a full-length zipper, and slightly meshed sides for extra ventilation. It is in"like new" condition: there are NO snags, pulls, smells, stains, loose/missing stitching, etc. The bibs are a Men's size Large. About a 32-34 inch waist, and feature perforated straps for breathability. The bibs are in"almost new" condition: there is a minor rub mark, about one inch square, on one leg. Either the bibs came to me that way, or I lightly brushed up against something like a brick wall. I didn't even notice it ... moreuntil after I took pictures. The pad on the bibs is CLEAN. For example. If I were eating a sandwich, I would have no problem setting it down on this pad between bites. The colors are vibrant. A little more vibrant than the first pictures show, due to the sun shining through a window. Vintage U.S. Military Officer's Full Length Wool Coat (FREE SHIPPING)
This is a Vintage U.S. Military Officer's Full Length Wool Coat. The entire coat is in excellent condition( NO damages/slightest of wear) The photos shown here show various shades of color in the material and this is NOT the coat( it's the light on my camera) The coat was stored for decades. So it does show a little settled dust around the front collar area(see photos) Otherwise, it's extremely clean and almost like new. The silver oak leaf insignia on the shoulder boards equates to a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force or a Commander in the Coast Guard(insignia included) I have not determined if this is an Air Force or Coast Guard Officer's Coat. If someone out there knows. Please inform me. The coat has a zipper inner lining that can be removed. There is not a visible size label anywhere on the coat. The detachable inner ... morelining has a size label, but the size is completely faded. I am a perfect 44 Regular and the coat fits me perfectly(with the lining in or out) I also have a 72" wing span(stretched from tip of finger to finger) and the sleeves also fit perfectly. I tried to date the coat. But could only narrow it down to the late 1940s or later. Photos 5. 11, 12 show three labels inside the coat. Photo 5 shows the company Cravenette. Which does not exist anymore. My research leads me to believe they went out of business in the late 1940s or 1950s. The label in photo 12 is the C.B. Shane Corp. and the last info discovered on them was in 1952. Lastly. The label in photo 11 reads" Naval Uniform Services" Subsidary of Joseph Fess Cleveland. Oh" I know one thing for sure. This is NOT a Naval Officer Coat. I assume at one time many decades ago. This company supplied Naval and maybe Air Force or Coast Guard uniforms. This roll dates from the early 1900's ~ and is 100% woven by hand ~ Lovely multi blue! The stripes are a bright medium blue on the sides and the central stripes are a dark indigo blue! ~ ~*~ the tone of the ground is a lovely warm natural tone. This bolt has a medium open weave and isn't quite as heavy as most of these bolts, so I don't recommend this for a home of extremely high traffic.
