But none of them have ever offered a complete kit to make these modifications for  the DIY'er.  After much urging from my customers, I am now offering a complete kit to upgrade the Heathkit IG-18 based on the many articles that I have been able  to review.  This same upgrade can be performed on the IG-5218, SG-18, and the SG-5218.   This kit is available in two formats; one complete kit including the parts that need to be changed in the original IG-18. And a supplemental'meter buffer' only kit for  those that have already made the basic changes to the Heathkit IG-18.  It comes with a complete step-by-step instruction manual for making the changes.    We have discovered that a very few of the last IG-5218's utilized a meter that was manufactured in Japan.  This meter. While having the same electrical specifications as the  earlier meters, has a smaller physical spacing between the meter terminals.  For this reason, we have paid the additional expense to have new PC boards manufactured that will  fit both styles of meters.  We will constantly strive to improve our products even if it means throwing away perfectly good PC boards.   THIS KIT IS FOR THE METER BUFFER BOARD ONLY.  This assumes that you have already made the easy changes to your IG-18 but either stopped short of adding the meter buffer  circuit. He has 53 years experience with ham radios. Here is what he had to say about this unit: That's a HG-10 VFO. The updated version of the VF-1. The HG-10 was introduced in 1962 and intended for the DX-60 transmitter; the VF-1 about a decade earlier for the DX-100 and DX-20, 35, and-40 transmitters. The HG-10 was a much improved model. I had the DX-60 and HG-10 at one time-excellent station-so I know what to look for. It looks very complete and in great condition with original knobs. The only thing missing is a picture of the wiring under the chassis but with the condition of the case and top of the chassis. There's nothing wrong under it either. Overall. Very nice item. I read that t he AR-54 is nicknamed both the"Big Walter" and also the" Green Bullet" and is the same model that blues greats like Big Walter. Junior Wells, James Cotton, Sonny Boy Williamson and others are said to have used. This mic style is extremely popular among blues musicians and is a standard for serious harp players all over the world. Has good Hi-Z vintage tone and is even used by studios such as the famous Abbey Road. Comes additionally mounted on a vintage Atlas Sound 763 cast iron mic desk stand and currently has a 5-pin male Amphenol brand connector but can be wired for virtually any modern connector of your choice. Vintage test equipment in used condition. Has scratches and cracks on the meter cover. Missing/wrong screws on face plate. The carrying case shows signs of wear but overall good condition. The units is a bit grungy and could use a cleaning. The paper reel is intact with no tears but the thumb dial hangs up a bit in certain spots. Testing: Unit powers up. The line adjust works. Tested a few known good and bad tubes on the 9-pin socket only. It"passed" the good tubes and"failed" the bad ones so it appears to be somewhat functional. Instrument is not/has not been calibrated so accuracy is not known. That is the extent of the testing that was done. Comes with a supplemental test data sheets from 1962 and 1963. Tester has a built in roll chart for test set-up. Test sockets for 4, 5, 7 pin early type tubes, 8 pin octal and loctal tubes and 7,9 pin miniature tubes. All controls,switches and tube sockets were cleaned. Some capacitors, resistors and diodes were replaced. N ew power cord and roll chart window. G ood grid cap lead. Great for testing amplifier. Audio, stereo, hi/fi radio and tv tubes. Someone made the top cover. The line/short test switch had a toggle switch. I replaced it with the correct slide switch. Switch holes were round for toggle switch(see pictures) The repair looks good. S hows some age. But is in overall good plus condition.

Used. Vintage, Heathkit CT-1 Capaci-Tester(capacitor tester) I was going to refurbish this unit and keep it for myself but then I received a digital capacitor tester as a gift so this one has to go. Sold as I found it, dusty and with paint splatter on the housing. I plugged it in and the 1629 tube is strong and it functions properly. No further testing has been done. Vintage Heathkit RF Signal Generator # RF-1
This working vintage Heathkit model RF-1 RF signal generator is in good cosmetic condition. However. The main tuning knob seems to be a lighter color than the other knobs. It has an operating frequency range of 100 KHz through 110MHz in six bands controlled by a front panel band switch and a frequency control. The generator provides RF signals unmodulated(CW) Internally modulated or externally modulated through a modulation function switch. This generator has been refurbished to include replacement of the 2 filter capacitors and all the paper capacitors. The newer style BNC connectors have been installed. I also cleaned all potentiometers and switches. Using my Tektronix’ 465 oscilloscopes. I observed a good sine wave across each Band. SquareTrade © AP6.0 This is a very nice Heathkit Model T-4 Visual-Aural Signal Tracer. The unit comes with a copy of the assembly and operation manual. Heathkit had the foresight to permanently attach the probe to this model Signal Tracer.no hunting for probes! A slide switch switches the probe from checking the audio circuits to rf signals. The unit uses both the sound from the speaker and also a"magic eye" tube for visual indication. The eye tube is strong. See photo#8. This unit works fine and is an great aid in troubleshooting problems in vintage radios. Amplifiers and TVs. It's a must on the service bench. Heathkit IM-11 VTVM W/ Original Manual
This VTVM has been gone over with a fine tooth comb.All switches have been cleaned and the 1meg resistor has been installed on the function switch. No need to worry about switching from VAC to VDC it will automaticly changed when you flip the switch to the correct range. The ohms battery is installed and ready to go right out of the box. After warm up just zero the meter and take your readings. The original builder install the function knob enlay one click off so you need to take note of this when you select your function. The meter lens shows normal wear with no cracks or breaks on it. The test leads are perfect brand new and made with soft-flex wire for this application.
