A switcher displays one video picture at a time to either a display monitor or throughput into a recorder. Typically switchers have between 4-8 inputs with a single video out each input rotating to the display and/or recorder at a present interval. Using these allows non critical cameras to exist giving up to eight cameras to a previous one camera channel. Quads work in much the same manner as a switcher however they display up to 4 cameras at a time in a single screen. This allows all four to be seen at once rather than one at a time as the switcher does. Multiplexors are unique. They perform the function of both switcher and quad plus offer up to 16 cameras to display or record to a single input. The multiplexor typically is 16 camera input. The video output however can be varied between single, four, nine or sixteen on screen at once. MXR 113 DIGITAL DELAY - 4 MEMORY CARDS - needs at least 2 caps - sold as parts
The following is what I know of this unit. I purchased this a few years back. I got the sense it had been sitting for some time. I didn't have the means to try it at the time of purchase. It sat for at least a year plus in my possession. Sometime in that time frame I tried it without a foot switch. The light came on. Passed the single but no delay. A week or so ago I brought it to my friend who is a telephone/cable repair guy by day& amp builder by night. Using a foot switch to turn on the delay it fired right up! We started trying the different buttons& everything was working great& then suddenly it started sounding crazy. A second later smoke started to come out! We turned it off right after that. We took off the cover& immediately noticed a fried capacitor. 2nd picture) It also appears the capacitor directly below it ... moreis at the very least crispy on the outside. Not having the electronic experience. I'm guessing it's bad too. It's also a different color than the other capacitors on the other cards. So it might have been replaced previously or turned a different color after the smoke. I do not know. So.this did work approximately a week or so ago. For a very short time. You definitely need a foot switch. And you should only consider bidding on this if you're good with electronics or can bring it to a repair man. It smells terrible now. After the smoke. I'm not a rack guy but the sides seem to be in OK shape& otherwise it has plenty of small little dents& scratches. It's missing some screws for the cover& possibly there is a replacement screw on the bottom of the unit. The previous owner has put some stickers over the original number settings. Unknown condition beneath the stickers. ALSO they don't want to come off. There still some foamy stuff stuck to some parts& is constantly falling off in the chassis. This is all I know.
