Poseidon Frist Stage Scuba Diving Regulator
Made in Sweden. Poseidon regulators are a favorite among advanced divers for performance and reliability in the most demanding conditions. This regulator is the version that uses standard thread(as opposed to metric) hoses. I'm cleaning out my dive locker and getting rid of things I've accumulated and never used. Or haven't used in a long long time! This first stage is one of these items. I got it used from a guy who did some traveling at least 7 years ago. The filter is green, indicating it was used in salt water. There is also evidence of a light impact on the end if the regulator. Both of these are shown in the photos. I put some hoses on it. A service like that in an Aussie dive shop would give you little change out of $100. The DX4 is a balanced diaphragm reg with 2 hp& 4 lp ports. So it can be configured either way up for your convenience. It'll come without the 1 hp& 3 lp plugs, where your hoses go. It's also environmentally sealed to stop silt, sand& other contaminants causing wear& tear. Cosmetically. It's got a matte finish but does have some very minor scuffing. Certainly well above average. It had been serviced recently but was still disassembled on 13 December 2012& all components checked. The non-metallic parts were cleaned in a food grade detergent/disinfectant. The metal parts were fine. The double sided lp seat. Which had hardly any wear, was reversed& re-fitted& it's good to dive. Scubapro's 2007 catalogue gives the rrp for this reg as $265. Cosmetically. It's in average condition& the yellow purge cover& hose protector are also discoloured. However, if you're after a cheap, practical occy& don't want to stress about getting a new one scuffed when trying to get that cray or when making a rough shore exit, as they used to say in the Mitsubishi ad, please consider. Thank you for looking at this SCUBAPRO MK200 1st stage. I serviced this on 19 October 2012. Fully disassembling it, inspecting all components, ultrasonic cleaning them& fitting new Scubapro Annual Service kit parts. In very good condition. The handwheel logo being clearly legible. A little scraping along part of the bottom edge& also the rubber ring from the dust cap has marked the chrome under it. Like the MK2. The MK200 is Scubapro's"entry level" 1st stage. Being of a simple non-balanced piston design, it is reliable& cheap to service, with 1 x hp& 3 x lp ports, making it a favourite with dive shops as a hire& training reg. Being non-balanced means that it is affected by cylinder pressure. Full tank& the breathing is effortless. Get to 50 bar& the effort is noticeable- a good reminder for divers ... morewho may forget to check their spg, that it's time to head for the surface. Scuba diving 2nd stage regulator Dacor Formula - serviced 20 October 2012
Thank you for looking at this DACOR FORMULA 2nd stage. This reg was serviced on 20 October 2012. Being fully disassembled, inspected& ultrasonic cleaned, then fitted with new seat& o-rings. It's a downstream valve non-adjustable unit with a purge button depressor integrated into the front cover. When you're not diving. Slide the depressor over the purge button, as in the 2nd pic& it removes the lp seat from the knife-edge seal, so no static wear& the seat lasts much longer. These American regs are known for their simplicity. Durability& are easy& cheap to service. Whilst many(Aussie) dive shops will tell you they're obsolete, how hard is it to find some common size o-rings& a generic seat? And if you're reading this ad because you've got Dacor regs languishing in the shed that your dive shop ... moredoesn't want to know about, drop me line- chances are, I've got the"unobtainable" parts in stock. You are looking at a used Ellipse Alaska/MC7 Titanium cold water regulator with matching octopus and Cressi Brass mini console with compass in excellent used condition. This set only has a few dives on it and has not been used in a while. A service is recommended before using as with any used scuba gear This model has been designed mainly for use in cold water. The MC7 diaphragm first stage comes with the standard issue antifreeze kit and the second stage is identical to the one used in the Ellipse Titanium. The first stage of the Ellipse Alaska is the already famous and excellent Cressi MC7 model balanced diaphragm. It comes with the antifreeze kit. Which provides an additional waterproof chamber, to screw onto the end of the first stage. This chamber ends with a silicon diaphragm on the outside that seals off the inside from contact with ... morewater, while still transmitting any pressure variation to the inner organs, thanks to the flexibility of the material. The antifreeze kit is composed of two main parts. Both made from strong chrome-plated brass. There is a mushroom element inside, made from acetylic resin, which connects the external diaphragm to the internal one. The use of the antifreeze kit completely eliminates any water seepage into the external part of the first stage. So not only does itprevent the formation of ice in this area, but it also prevents the formation of deposits and incrustations on the diaphragm and on the spring. This provides considerable advantages for divers working in mineral-rich water or with lots of suspension(archaeological sites. Port works, caving etc. You are looking at a 830 dollar set here when puurchased. As with all underwater life support. It should be checked out at your local dive shop before using. Popular Science/ Palley’s 1954 Double Hose Scuba Regulator This is a Vintage 1954 Double Hose Scuba Regulator based on the’53 issue of Popular Science Magazine. And parts listed in the Palleys Gadgeeter’s Heaven mail catalog, and subsequent flyer. I discovered this regulator as part of an entire dive store“Jack The Frogman” that started in 1953. Closed in 1974 and locked the doors with all inventory, tanks, customers service work, etc until the owner died in 1998. I found two of these Palley regulators in a dumpster. Along with much history that was un-appreciated. After helping the family clean the estate. I found one or more of the tanks and some accessories. I discovered the original letter of correspondence from Jack to Palley. Along with the original mail advertiser and flyer. The popularity was so great for Palley that they designed ... morea subsequent flyer with the requisite scuba items one one side and blueprint on back side. The only other Palley regulator has sold along with the original flyers. However I did photo copy the exact flyer and complete catalog in color, these are included in sale. This regulator was based on the Palley design with the 6004-1“Diluter Demand Oxygen Regulator” yet varies from the twin cylinder design shown in Popular Science’53 issue. I have enlarged a cut out from the Palley flyer that shows a scuba diver wearing this rig in single tank configuration. Another unique variation is the position of the duckbill exhaust which were wired onto the end port. Verse internal. This regulator had hoses that were too far of state to maintain and have been replaced with the original“flex breathing hose” Since there were two of these regulators in identical configuration. Both single tank and slight modifications but based on Palley, and the Palley flyer shows a single tank configuration that this was a norm.
