This sterling silver tea strainer is fully marked for Viners Ltd. Edward Viner. Of Sheffield, England, made in 1963. It is a over-the-cup style. Measuring 6" long overall, and having a large, 2 1/4" diameter, 3/4" deep, finely pierced bowl with two hooks for resting on the lip of a cup. It is solid sterling silver and weighs 1.4 T. oz. The glass portion is in very good condition, with a couple of small scratches, but otherwise light surface wear. The strainer portion has some light surface wear, denting, and a small break between two of the strainer holes in the center. The cap has some light surface wear, one small dent and some cracking at the seams that I think can be repaired. Buildings, boat and water surrounded by repouse flowers and design. On the end of the handle is a portrait oval with a squirrel at the very top. R everse has 4 marks: the lion passant. An image that resembles a strawberry(or maybe a pineapple? a small"n" in a shield and the number"13. I'm not sure of the origin but I'm guessing English due to the lion mark. Measures 7 1/4" long. BEAUTIFUL HEISEY ROOSTER HEAD COCKTAIL SHAKER WITH STRAINER
This beautiful piece of Heisey is 14" high with the stopper and strainer and 3 1/2" wide. It is 9" high without the stopper and strainer. It is mostly in excellent condition. There is a small flake on the top of the frosted part of the stopper below the rooster head. Their is no damage on the rooster part of the stopper. There are also no cracks. Just sorting out some of the things which were given to me when i worked at Royal Doulton. I don't know if these items were ever produced for the retail market as we were given a lot of sample items. This is a new and unused Minton Haddon Hall tea strainer. I have never used it but i think it is silver as i have just cleaned it with silver cleaner and it has come up very nice. May need another clean though as I am no expert in cleaning silver! Has the haddon hall design on a pottery handle. Nice to complete a haddon hall collection.
