Collector's Vintage USA ILGWU GARTER BELT Black Satin with Ruffled Lace Size 30
This black lacy little gem has the International Ladies Garment Workers Union blue label. That was used between 1963 to 1974. Made in U.S.A. Registration Number 15974, from a Broadway New York City company called Gold Seal Garter Company. The garter belt appears to have never been worn. Made of 100% Acetate. Size is 30. I assume that means 30 inch around the area it sits between waist and hips when used to hold up stockings. Beautiful frilly lace and perfect hook and eye closure in the back. Fabric is still crisp. The white satin panties shown in these photos have already been sold. But I do have other vintage lingerie for sale.

Dress has no label or size tag. I would call it crepe with a sheer crepe overlay. Taupe lace. It has 3/4 length sleeves with the pointed overlay pieces. The skirt also has the swirly pointed overlay. Narrow self belt has rhinestone clasp. One belt loop is missing. The fabric has deteriorated. There are tiny holes in one spot. That I have shown in pix. This auction is for a lovely ... moreantique two piece dress made of a brown silk fabric with"S" shaped design and creamy colored fine embroidered lace. The blouse has lace trimmed sleeves, simple Mandarin? styled collar with braid trim and what appear to be celluloid? stays sewn into it to give shape, hook and eye in front, inset chest panel with pleats and tie/belt in the back-not sure if you wear it tied in front or not. The skirt is made of the same fabric and print and has hooks and eyes at the waist. There's a separate silky belt with a silk rose and hooks and eyes-I'm guessing that it hooks somewhere on the blouse but I'm not sure. The next outer layer I generally measure about a half inch inside each armpit, and an outer ... morelayer coat or jacket I'll allow a full inch either side. This is to allow for the layers of clothes worn underneath. Arm length measurements I take from the collar to the cuff- this is because the shoulder seam point differs a lot from brand to brand- and a lot of t ailors use the collar to cuff as a more consistent figure(as a rough guide. The average men's arm measurement is 31.5 inches, women's is 28.5 inches) I do not give measurements for swimsuits and bras. Mostly because the y end up pretty well meaningless(due to the different stretch properties of different fabrics and the difficulty of measuring around bra cups) You will notice that many of my descriptions are similar- light/slight/some wear. No other apparent damage or defects. I n the process of listing each item I check for holes and stains in the shell and lining. Make certain that all zippers are in good working order and/or all buttons are present, pockets aren't holey, and there is no obvious smoke or pet odor.
