This Swiss made precision Wild T2 theodolite came from the estate of a collector and we must confess to knowing nothing about these types of instrument. But I can say it looks to be in excellent cosmetic condition. Everything works as far as we can tell and the optics look very clean. In fact it looks absolutely gorgeous in its vintage enamel finish and would be a wonderful display/collectors piece if you appreciate fine optical instruments. I have no idea of how to use it and whether or not it needs calibration or even if it is complete. It does look complete. Sold as pictured but otherwise AS IS. It also still has it's pouch- see photos. This tripod is in good used condition but does have some paint worn which adds to it's vintage look- see photos. So I've buy one on eBay to complete my kit. I'm not sure that GTS 3F controller is the right model to fit my DI5 but every button do something to the Distomat. Charger works and recharge the GEB 70 Battery pack on both output. It hold a charger for 15 minutes. Time I've take to test functionality, but cell will need to be replace to hold a longer charge. I don't know how it work or how it should react with the controller. So item is sold as used. The outside case reads made in switzerland, as well as both pieces. When reseraching this item, I found the following: The two diagonal eyepieces are required for steep sights or sights to the zenith(such as, for example, in field astronomy, tunnelling and mining) when the horizontal plate obstructs access to the telescope and circle-reading eyepieces. One of the eyepieces is attached to the telescope and the other is attached to the reading microscope of the Wild T2 theodolite. They deflect the line of sight through 90°, so that the observer views the images from the top or side of the telescope. When changing from one telescope position to the other, they can be ... morereversed.
