Very large antique cast iron clock face in the shape of what I believe is the Administration Building from the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition held in Chicago to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Columbus's discovery of America. This building replica is free standing and is a three-quarter facade. Measuring 13" tall by 11" across and 2" deep, and weighing 4.5 lbs. The clock would have gone in the 3" diameter hole on the top floor below the dome. The building is made of cast iron with a brassy-bronze finish and very good detail in the Beaux-Arts style architecture. The back is unfinished and has no markings that I can see. Old cast iron bookend in the shape of the Central Bank of Albany in New York state. This building bookend probably dates from the 1930's and is made in forced perspective. Showing the front and side of the neoclassical bank building. It has a very dark bronze finish and the back is flat. The detail is very good, depicting the tall arched doorway and windows, stone work on the walls, and"CENTRAL BANK OF ALBANY" spelled out above the main entrance. The bookend stands 4.25" tall on a 6.5" by 1.75" base, covered in green felt on the bottom, and weighs 2 lbs. 12 oz. Vintage Souvenir Metal Lead Building 1930's Old Main Penn State University
REFERENCE PLATE 224 IN MONUMENTAL MINIATURES. Cast in lead in the 1930's this is one of a trio of lead castings from the same company and era- the other two in the series are the Pa State Capitol in Harrisburg and the Zembo Mosque. This piece was cast two times- this is the older version. Cast in lead in the 1930's. The more recent casting is pot metal and dates to the 1960's and cannot compare in quality of detail. Copper washed with great patina- note that the copper color is stronger on one side than on the other- probably a result of uneven sunlight. There are some casting lines on the lower edges- places where the metal apparently didn't fill the mold completely when cast about 80 years ago. They add character! Vintage 1960's pot metal salt& pepper shakers in the shape of the Seattle Space Needle. The Space-Age landmark of the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. These shakers are identical and stand just over 4.5" tall on a 1.25" diameter round base. Each is made of silvered pot metal with the pour holes in the middle of the tower and the plastic refill plug on the bottom. The base is embossed"SEATTLE, WASH. This is a very hard to find miniature metal replica of the Empire State Building in New York City that is. I believe, one of the earlier replicas of Manhattan's light house cast with the Antenna atop. in fact, it could be an earlier pre-antenna model that was retrofitted, by the manufacturer, with an add on aerial. It stands just under 8.25" tall and the edges read: EMPIRE STATE; WORLD'S TALLEST; NEW YORK; and HEIGHT 1472 FT. Also, in tiny lettering on one edge MADE IN USA. I can't prove it but base on quality, detail, heft- I believe it is likely a product of Staybright Mfg. I have@ 16 of these Foam and Galvanized Insulated"Studs" that I ended up not using for my barn. These metal studs can be used in place of standard wood framing. You could create an insulated walled office in just a few hours. Most of the panels are already put together and at least 5' wide(Most are 6' and some are 8' by 8' tall and 4" thick. If you know what standard 2" thick 4x6' panels cost at home depot you can see what the savings would be with just the insualted panels alone. Not counting the studs.
