Here is a very rare. Large and heavy souvenir of appeal across many categories of interest. Topped by a miniature metal replica of the famous Campanile or Bell Tower that tops the Seville Cathedral in Spain, the base is a large bell with images of the three sailing ships that Christopher Columbus used on his fabled trip across the atlantic. The connection between the Seville Cathedral and Columbus is that Chris is buried at the Cathedral. Edges of the bell read the names of his ships: LA PINTA, LA NINA, AND the SANTA MARIA. Finished in a gold color wash- original- this heftly souvenir stands 6.25" tall. The base- the mouth of the bell- is just under 3" in diameter. Condition is superb and the detailing is as well. This is one of the best miniature metal replicas of the Statue of Liberty you are likely to come across- not so much for the Statue herself(though it is fine too! but because of the base. Sitting in New York Harbor on Bedloe's Island. Lady Liberty is also surrounded by a star shaped stone wall. The wall and structure were originally built on Beloe's Island in 1811 and named FORT WOOD- a defense point for the city of New York. The statue was"added" to the site and island about 80 years later. This piece includes the wall with the statue standing proudly in the center. This star has 11 points to it.
