Also included is the book Building Leaders The Story of Westpoint that is also from the same time(mid-late 40's) and appears to be a sort of introduction to the Academy. Besides the standard information you would expect in informational catalogs. There are a number of photos(black and white) of the Academy and its grounds as well as the Cadets engaged in a number of activities. These are in pretty good shape for their age. CHICAGO World's Fair 1893 FISHERIES BUILDING Porcelain Pitcher Bridgwood England
SOUVENIR from the Chicago Word's Fair- Columbian Exposition- 1893 Henry Cobb's Fisheries Building Tall Water Pitcher We bought this wonderful pitcher from an auction at our church about 20 years ago. Which was at that time a larger, well-healed congregation of older members, many of whom had traveled extensively, and so I feel very certain it's authentic. The inscription on the bottom says"The Fisheries Building World's Fair" and after researching a bit on eBay, I found other photos etc of that building and it's known as Henry Cobb's Fisheries Building from the Columbian Exposition, 1893 Chicago World's Fair. I am a chintz collector, so I'm fairly certain that the picture as well as the floral border are transfers, so that would make this chintz ware as well. The manufacturer is Bridgwood& Son, ... moreout of England, and it says"Porcelaine Opache" and the words Trade Mark above a shield for the maker's mark(see photo 10) It's in great vintage condition, with one flaw which I think is a flea bite or skip in the porcelain, a manufacturing defect. See 11th photo. I've shown lots of close-ups of the details of the building pictures. See the 5th& 6th shots for size of piece. This is a neat piece of history. We had just moved in to our large. 1916 home when we bought this, thinking it was exactly the kind of souvenir likely to have decorated the house in its early years, but we are down-sizing with an eye to moving to a smaller home in the next few years, so I'm listing it in the hopes it can find a new home. AIR FORCE ACADEMY CADET CHAPEL MINIATURE SOUVENIR BUILDING FRASER CREATIONS
Miniature replica of the Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel in Colorado Springs. Colorado, made by Fraser Creations in 1994. This souvenir building of the futuristic styled chapel is made of hand-painted cold-cast porcelain or resin with excellent detail. The seventeen spires that give the chapel its architectural impact are chipped on top, so the roof line is uneven when it should be straight as an arrow. Nevertheless, the rest of the replica is undamaged and intact. The building stands 2.5" tall on a 5" by 3.5" base. The front reads"AIR FORCE CADET CHAPEL" the back"IAN M. FRASER 1987" with a circled copyright. The underside is covered in green felt with the Fraser Creations label reading"AMERICAN HERITAGE COLLECTION" A very cool miniature building of one of America's most inspiring chapels.

This is an original Bronze plaque from a Kresge's store. It is a nice piece of Department or Discounter Store history. SS Kresge was a discounter store and operated McCrorry 5 and dimes. Kresge later opened the Kmart chain of giant discount stores. However. Originally Kresge stores competed with the likes of F.W. Woolworth, Grants, and other five and dime stores. This bronze plaque came off one of the Kresge buildings and weighs almost 10 pounds. It measures 15 inches in width by 8 inches in height. Here's an old 15-year State Farm service pin. Mounted on a charm that hangs from a chain bracelet, with the old Fire Building on the front, so it probably dates to the early 60s or before. The service pin itself measures about 1/2” x 5/8” with the enameled number and“YEARS SERVICE. If you took it off the charm, it would certainly be marked 10K on the back and would, based on many similar items I've processed, weigh about 2.4 grams. The charm is marked gold-filled and LGB.
