Vintage Souvenir Metal Building Monument MANEKEN PIS Belgium Brussels
As the story goes. A little boy in Brussels ran away and when found by the local police he was standing in a corner near the Town Hall in Brussels, relieving himself against a wall. His overjoyed parents erected a spectacular fountain on that sight depicting a little boy urinating. Called Maneken Pis(or little boy peeing) it is a must see in Brussels. Why? Who knows! The story has been debunked over the years, but I like the story and am sticking with it. While miniatures of the wee lad abound, this is quite a rare item because it includes both the little guy and the entire fountain that he stands in. Looks exactly like the real one too! Been there and seen it. This brass piece has earned a nice soft patina- if you dare, I am sure it will take to brasso but be ware of those tiny crevices. Measures 2.75" tall. The bus is headed for Kaimuki-Ruger and shows servicemen both inside and outside the restaurant. The back shows it was"Passed by U.S. Army Examiner. It is in near mint condition. Measures 8" x 10" The 16th Coast Artillery Regiment was a Coast Artillery regiment in the United States Army. Manning the harbor defenses of Honolulu, Pearl Harbor and the perimeter of Oahu, Hawaii during World War II. The Regiment manned a large number of gun batteries at locations all over Oahu. 1] The forts where they were assigned date to the 1890s. And had were in caretaker status for more than 30 years.
