It was used by a private individual, and does not show any wear or use marks. The case has a few minor scuffs, but I would grade this unit as like-new. There is not one mark or scuff on the unit itself, truly like new. The rain cover has never been out of the case, and the lens cloth has never been out. I don't think the tools have been out of the kit either. There is a number on the side, UN 5278" I think this is the serial number. I believe this unit is about 5-6 years old. It turns on and goes through some electronic adjustments, I have no idea how to"operate" this equipment, so I will only say that it should operate as new due to the condition it is in and what I know of the former owner. DESCRIPTION TOPCON GTS-303 Total Station- This is a great little instrument that I have been using for about 7 years now. I purchased it used for $2200 in 2006. I use this total station primarily for mortgage lot surveys. TOPO, and short traverses. Both of the batteries included were re-celled about 3 months ago and each one will last about 2 days of vigorous data collection. The instrument shows signs of wear(mostly from the previous owner) But it has been quite the workhorse for me. This instrument is ready to use, but it could use a calibration- in a traverse I ran a couple of weeks ago, a 1600' traverse closed at around 6 hundredths(an indirect horizontal scope is about 40 seconds off) I was quoted $100 from a well respected survey supply company to do a full calibration.
