The instruction booklet and other paperwork comes with the instrument. It(and an HP 3805 distance meter) was the faithful foundation of my surveying business(Engineering Field Services) for 10 years until the digital total stations became affordable. Trough compass, spirit levels and magnifiers, marked on the instrument'STANLEY, LONDON, 101227, PATENT' fitted in its wooden case with paper labels within a leather case, circa 1900. The theodolite measures approx. 16 1/4" tall to the top of the vertical circle. The circles are about 6 1/2" in diameter- the largest theodolite I've seen! The instrument is in very good condition. Good working order, and the telescope delivers beautiful clear images. STANLEY'S PATENT' is also marked on the base plate. The instrument consists of a horizontal circle. A vertical circle and a telescope, together mounted on a two-parallel-triangle ... morebase with mechanical stage. The horizontal circle has scale markings 0-360 degrees. And the vertical circle has scale marking 0-90-0-90-0 degrees. Each circle has two magnifiers for readings. A 6 1/4" bubble is set on the top of the telescope(sadly it's broken. See photo#5) and two are attached to the cover of the horizontal circle. The telescope has rack and pinion focusing. Cross wires, and a push-on lens cap/shade with cover. There are three eyepieces- long, short and a T shape, all of which give beautiful clear images. The long eyepiece does not fit into the telescope tube quite right, a bit loose. Perhaps there should be another tube to receive the eyepiece or something like a collar? The detachable trough compass is 6 1/4" long; it has marking'5. 0, 5' a needle locking knob and glass cover. The compass can be slided in and out of the slot beneath the horizontal circle. The theodolite is contained in its wooden case with felt trims. Cosmeticaly, it is still in great/excellent condition considering the age of the unit and the fact it is WWII time piece. I tried all the knobs. Levers, etc and they work properly. All of the level bubbles are good. All of the fitted holes in the internal carry case/ tray are full and this instrument was designed to be locked into the case on the base to withstand all sorts of travel bumps and abuse. All of the tiny magnifiers over the vernier scales are present. The optics are clear. All the"bubbles" in the levels are still present. The case itself shows ... moresome wear. But.really nothing major. Leather back straps are broken, so it cannot be carried out on the back, as intended. The original Japanese cover is included. The instrument again, is very clean. The door compartment consist of many additional parts, tools, cleaning tools, etc. Usually those are missing. You will be hard pressed to find one like this in such nice condition. Originally built for the Wild T2 theodolite, can fit any theodolite with an adaptor. Note in photo that the slip-on mount has an inside diameter of about 46 mm, and is tightened with a screw clamp. Includes original carrying case and photocopy of original product sheet. The prism is in very good original condition. It has seen field use. Sokkisha Lietz Theodolite DT5A/DT5AS Survey Total Station Works Great!!
Up for your consideration is a used Sokkisha Lietz DT5A Theodolite Total Station. It is in good working condition. It turns a tight angle, horizontally and vertically. It may need calibration though. The optical plumb works well. All of the lenses are in good clean condition without flaws. The light works and the battery is good. No battery charger is included. It comes in the case with rain coat. The plumb bob that looks like it was never used, and the adjustment kit. There is some damage to the side where the lietz badge is. It does affect the usability of this item. I do not know if it was dropped or someone closed the case with something in that spot. I cannot speculate that. World War 2 II Theodolite Transit German or Czech
Purchased at an estate auction. This is a World War II. 2 Transit Theodolite. I am pretty sure it was made in Germany by Carl Zeiss Co. and was used by the Czechoslovakian Troops from the markings but I am not an expert. I am concluding this from reviewing pictures of Zeiss equipment and the markings on the device. everything appears to be functional. I thing there is a missing light module. This is an antique Wild Model T1 Double-Centre Theodolite made in Heerbrugg Switzerland. Ser. No. is 9598(see photo) Best I can tell that makes this instrument about 75 years old. Included in this listing: Wild T1 Theodolite w/ optical plumb Bullet case Matching Tripod Plumb bob, Original manual, CHECK my other listings for matching diagonal eyepiece set(high elevation and microscope) Optics are all clear and focus well. All knobs turn smoothly. The brass lens cap is in good shape and fits snugly. Bullet case has some dents and scratches but mates up and latches securely; leather strap/handle is broken. Tripod has no cracks in the wood and seems to work well. The brass thumb screws work better than the ones on my new Sokkia tripod! I tried to get lots of pics. But feel free to ask questions. I'm not an expert I checked everything and it looks to be in great condition. There are 2 small items( 2nd to last picture) that look to be a extra screw cap and some sort of small lens. The bullet case has no dents. I would have it calibrated, as the last time this was done was in 1984 by Ridgeway Co. Paperwork from them is located on the metal cover( see photos) with Free Shipping.
