for auction is a Early Keuffel& Esser surveyors transit. It was patented in Dec 3 1889. Aug 12 1890 and May 26 1891. It is in as found condition and it is a bit dirty. The tool will need a good cleaning. It comes with a partial box. only the bottom, no lid or accessories) The transit has a good working level bubble. It has A good working compass as well. It focuses easily with no problem. There is 1 cross hair in the view. The main issue is the rear focusing lens has a crack in it. see Last Picture) Now other smaller issues are as follows: 1st, no accessories. 2nd, Poor condition wood box. 3rd, Inside compass is a bunch of dirt and flakes of something( see pictures 3& 4) 4th, one of the leveling adjuster is missing it's shoe. see picture# 9) No for what model this is, I don't know. CST Berger Survey Prism Rod Stakeout Pole Ruler + Prism - Surveying Equipment
This is a CST Berger Surveying Rod/Pole for use in surveying to hold prisms and other surveying equipment. Rod is in used shape with scratches. Scuffs and dirt from normal field usage. It comes with a prism& prism bracket as well. Rod stands at 56" and telescopes/extends to 93" in length. The locking mechanism operates properly and holds the rod in it's set position. There's also a bubble-level on the rod that appears to be fine as well. There's a ruler on the extension section to show height. The prism does not appear to be branded. But my guess is that it is most likely a CST prism. It can be moved to either side with a 0mm/30mm offset. But I have not polished them to find out. Light transport style. Extends to approx. 60” but watch out! The ends of the legs have pointed metal pieces that hold into the ground. The bottom spikes are in good condition, all three are there but missing 2 thumb screws. The oak is straight and not warped. It is unfinished, could use some feeding with oil… the top block shows a grain crack, but all solid. Vintage Surveying Equipment Leveling Rod Surveying Pole With Target
This is a vintage wooden leveling rod with target. Based on others I've seen this one appears to be in great shape all the number are legible and wood is in good shape. I'm not sure of the manufacture. There is some rust on the metal pieces but nothing unexpected for the age. Each pole measures 67in. long. 1 5/8in. wide and when connected they are about 1 3/4in. deep. I am not sure how these are suppose to work and if all pieces needed are there so please look at all the pictures what is in the pictures is what you will receive.
