Vintage Keuffel& Esser K&E P5085CS Paragon transit. Cool vintage K&E Paragon transit with original wood case. The transit was formally used by a local construction company around Seattle Washington so the wood case does show patina/ character. The transit was last service way back in 1986. All controls move freely and compass does work and gives readings(not jittery or sticky in movement very fluid and smooth) Optics look good. Missing the plum bob and cleaning brush and perhaps a few other things as I’m not sure. What you see is what you get. Up for bid is a great early brass Buff& Buff industrial survey transit/theodolite. It measures approximately 15 inches tall by 11 inches long by 7 inches wide. Overall it looks to be in great condition. The brass hasn’t been cleaned at all because I really like the color of the patina. The brass shows moderate surface wear and scratching. The surface is also a bit dirty and dusty from age and could use a cleaning. It could easily be cleaned if desired. All of the pieces for the unit appear to be present. There are no cracks or breaks anywhere in the metal. All of the adjustable parts move as they should and none of the screws are stuck in position. All of the levelers work as they should and are adjustable. The glass in the center of the unit is in great shape with no cracks or chips. The logo in the center reads“Buff& Buff Mfg Co ... more31362 Boston” The adjustable scope on the top appears to be in good shape with moderate surface wear from age. I never tried to use the transit and wouldn’t know how to use it properly anyway. There looks to be a bruise on the glass cover on the end of the scope. Up for bid is a great early Buff& Buff industrial survey transit/theodolite in the original factory case. The transit itself measures approximately 12 inches tall by 8 inches long by 8 inches wide. The case measures approximately 15 inches tall by 10 inches long by 11 inches wide. Overall the transit is in excellent condition. All of the pieces appear to be present and all of the adjustment screws move freely as they should. The surface of the unit is generally dirty and dusty from age and use. But could easily be cleaned. The surface also shows moderate exterior wear from age and use. A few of the brass pieces on the bottom and top of the transit show moderate surface pitting and wear. There are no cracks or breaks in any of the metal pieces. The middle of the unit is stamped“Buff& Buff Mfg Co 17088 Boston” The scope on the top of ... morethe unit is in great shape with light exterior wear and scratching. The glass on both ends of the scope is in excellent condition with only very light scratching. The original cover for the glass on the end of the scope is present. The wood base for the machine looks to be a reproduction, but it is very well made. The case is overall in good shape. The exterior shows heavy exterior wear and scratching from age and use. The original leather handle is still present on the case and is in good condition. All of the hinges on the front of the case are present and in good condition. The interior of the case looks to be in great condition and all of the original paper labels are still present inside. The stand that came with this unit is available in another auction. This is a David White Meridian L6-20 LT6-900 Level Transit in the original case with the owners guide. The transit is in excellent condition and has only been used a few times. It has just a few scratches and dust on it. There is a little tan paint on one of the knobs, but it is from the factory. The case shows a few signs of use. Up for bis is this vintage Dietzgen surveyors level in good condition with the original wooden box c1943. The serial number is 31646 and has US stamped on the side. This level focuses and looks clear and sharp though lens. The bubble is in good condition.The wooden box needs the hinge on one side repaired(see pictures)This should not be a difficult fix some glue and two screws. I believe this is why someone put tape around box. Includes shade. Lens cap,some kind of tool and leather strap for handle. I do not make money on shipping and probably lose a few dollars. This is a listing for a vintage Gurley Engineering Survey Transit with Original Wood carry/ storage box and with original Gurley wooden Tripod. This unit comes to you in used good/ very good condition. Nothing appears to be broken. The glass level still works and is undamaged. Both the front and back lenses are clean and unbroken. you can still look through and sight stuff with the cross hairs. The eyepiece has a green hue to it. The body of the unit is clean, showing only some minor signs of age and use wear. It still swivels smoothly on it's base. There is a lens cap for the front lens as well as a"sun visor" type extension tube. All of this comes in a hard wooden carry/ storage case with leather carry handle. The case is still in very good condition. Showing some scratches and wear marks from age, use and storage. It has ... moretwo metal closures that secure the hinged top closed. There is a metal Gurley plaque on the top of box as well as a sticker from Schneider Technical Instrument Corp. Transit sits inside nice and secure. Leather carry handle is also in good shape, showing only some small signs of age and use wear. Finally there is a W& L.E. Gurley Wood and metal Tripod. This is from the same company that made the Transit and the case. This tripod is also still in good/ very good condition showing some minor signs of age and use wear. Nothing cracked or broken and all the securing knobs/ screws still work as they should. This is a great vintage unit in fantastic shape. WOW! What a find! In storage for many years. We have a Vintage C. L. Berger& Sons Transit/Level with Serial# 66764 Boston, MA. with original box and leather strap! Included is brass plum 5 1/2" long. Also included is a Keuffel& Esser 3tier Survey Slide Rule 54" long in non-extended position and classic Tri-Pod 57" in closed position. We estimate that these are all from the 1940's but we were unable to confirm. The container box is also marked"Force Machinery CO. Union NJ Phone MUrdock 8-8270, and is 13 3/4" wide, 11" deep and 6 1/2" high. Container box has one missing rubber foot. One hinge has replacement screw not original. Tri-Pod has weathered chipped paint. All pieces have age/usage scuffs. In over-all great vintage condition. Please let us know if you need additional pictures. The box is still very solid with reinforced corners. A steel handle, felt padding, and a screw locking mechanism that works well. The device stores in the box vertically and is braced by built in supports. I don't know anything about the optics except that when I look through the eyepiece I can focus on the distance.
