Trailer-Construction-Mobile Office-Hunting Camp-Cheap
This is a 8'x8'x40' office trailer I got from a guy who got it from a guy who got it from a business that bought it new. We stripped out everything that did not work any more like the baseboard heating and bathroom so this is a 8'x8'x40' box with windows. It has been in service for about the last 8 years as a hunting camp- roof is coated- no leaks that I am aware of- a couple of the windows show some water damage underneath like the window was left open(but we got it that way- worked good enough for us) You can see on the doors some cheap paint is peeling off but they seem to be otherwise ok. We moved up to a 50' so the 40' is up for grabs. I towed it to Allemans PA from Greenbelt MD with a F350 including climbing the mountains without issue- since it is only 8' wide. No special permits are needed. Tow ... morehitch is intact. You can see we jury-rigged lights just to get it there- don't know if they still work or not. We ran 110 power to the main breaker with an elaborate extension cord- I believe all the 110 sockets inside work ok. I think the tires would get you where you are going- no dry rot- I don't know about the bearings- I suggest you check them- I have no reason to believe they are not ok. But they have been sitting a long time. Parked in Allemans PA 16680- as is/where is/no reasonable offer refused. It was our first camp and did us very well- lots of space- clean. Dry, servicable. We found office trailers were better than campers because you could fit them out however you wanted- AND- no need to subsize the stuff(full size appliances, beds, furniture) we used electric heaters and a generator in this one- have a woodstove in the 50' works great- you could rig one in the 40' with no problem.
