My tree spirit wood carvings are carved from Ponderosa pine knots gathered in the beautiful forests of Centeral Oregon. Once a tree has fallen and decomposed over time in the elements. All that remains are the pitch filled knots that decompose at a much slower rate and are lying about on the forest floor. Finding the unique knots and limbs from downed trees is half the fun. I enjoy collaborating with Nature to create these crazy characters! I spend several hours each day carving knot heads using rotary hand tools. Grinders and various cutters to create my carvings.
