Vintage Women's Cream Colored Leather Dress Gloves Embroidered with Snaps
Description Up for bid is an interesting vintage pair of women's dress gloves that could be Victorian or from the Art Deco period. I really have no idea. The leather is soft and the snaps do snap together. But they have flaws such as age spotting, some loss of stitching and wear, and two tiny holes in the right glove. There are blue stamped makers marks on the inside that are difficult to make out. But I can clearly see“Made in France” And there's part of a name“Wm. Taylor Son- The size is marked 6 ½. I am selling a lot of four pairs of gorgeous leather gloves. All in excellent vintage condition. The long white gloves have a fold line and a couple of very light marks on the palm side(barely visible- see last photo for detail) but nothing that would stop you from wearing them immediately. The fold line disappears when worn. There is no size marking on the long white gloves. All gloves are from a dear 79-year-old friend who is the original owner so should be the same size(7 1/2) but cannot be certain.

Like polyester? there are some pulls in the material. They are approx. 17" long. The tag is displayed in a photo. The beige pair are soft suede-like leather. They are marked: Rovira 6 1/2 Lavable. I cannot make out the other words on the stamped mark. These gloves are quite worn/dirty. The shortest pair are a very lovely white soft leather. I do not see a maker mark. They appear larger than the longest pair. But there is not a size mark.

For sale are a pair of Neiman Marcus leather gloves. The gloves are marked inside. One is marked, 6 Zionel Le Grand, the other one, Neiman Marcus, made in France. I am assuming the gloves are a size 6 because of the number, they seem very small to me, almost a child or very petite woman size. The gloves are made from the softest leather I have ever felt, they are in very good condition and are a very light chamois color. The gloves are made with an elastic band, at the wrist, on the backside. The gloves have no holes, stains or repairs.

Pretty Women's White Leather Latticework Gloves
Description I listed these in the WWII vintage category because I purchased them for WWII reenacting and they should work well for that. However they could be earlier or later in date, I'm not really sure. Regardless, they are gorgeous gloves of the softest leather I think I've ever felt and have an intricate'latticework' weaving detail on the front near the wrist area. Very fine white stitching holds them together. There are a few marks on them which might be able to be buffed out or repaired, I'm not sure. These include some black scuff marks around the knuckles of the left hand glove, and a couple of more brownish marks around the wrist and thumb on the right hand glove. Measurement from the tip of the middle finger to the end of the glove near the wrist is 9 1/4 inches. From thumb seam to the seam on the opposite side, ... moreacross the widest part of the hand above the wrist is 3 1/4 inches across and about 8 inches in circumference. 6 1/2 inches around the inside of the wrists and 3 1/4 inches across the bottom of the wrist. Leather gloves have a rich history, from ladies of the Victorian era who would wear undersized leather gloves in an effort to shrink the size of their hands(small hands were considered a sign of beauty) to oversized leather gauntlets which were thrown down in passion as a challenge to a duel. He obtained his first bale of skins on credit, dressed them and took the cut leather from house to house in a wheelbarrow and collected the finished gloves in the same way. In 1864 Mr. Hays purchased the property at the corner of Main and Fremont streets. During these twenty-five years he tanned all of his own leather. He controlled the market on these skins for many years. In 1888 he erected the four-story brick factory on West Fulton Street with leather mills near by. In January, 1890 he admitted Lewis A.
