For your consideration I have a Vintage Chicago Steel Transit Survey Measuring Rule. This rule is in very good condition. It expands out to 12 feet total. Its numbers are vibrantly colored so that they are easy to read. All numbers are intact and in good condition. I noticed a little bit of minor scuffs along the numbers but it in no way takes away from the functionality of this piece. The top of the rule features a metal bracket that reads" Chicago Steel. Chicago Illinois" This is a really great vintage rule that would be great for use in the surveying field or would add beautifully to any transit collection. VINTAGE COLLECTOR GRADE Wright McGill Granger Stream & Lake 8642 Bamboo Fly Rod
Here is an excellent example of arguably one of the greatest tapers in the bamboo world. This rod looks to have never touched the water. With original plastic still on the handle. Refer to the clear, close up photos for condition. The rod has maybe the slightest amount of shelf wear, with a light scuff or two, but hard to see. Other than one of the tips having a slight bow to it, this thing is virtually mint. Comes with original tube and sock, with the tube having a few blemishes. Cardboard was not meant to last 60+ years! Ferrules fit tight and have the lovely familiar pop to them. Reel seat is perfect. Time to head to your favorite medium to large trout stream! Shipping is $12.50 to the lower 48.

This all came from a man who purchased the three items to survey his property for a mother in law unit. He then packed it away where it sat until I came along. It is good shape as seen in photos. Optics are clear! The tripod has some random all over nicks as shown in picture 12 which shows an accurate representation of the type you will find. The grading rod has some missing paint and on of the alignment pins is missing in the back of the lower joint. None of this effects the overall performance or accuracy of this item.

W & LE Gurley Transit with Box, Gurley Tripod and Post Grade Rod
Up for auction is a great vintage lot of surveying equipment! The transit itself is in great shape. There is some patina to the screws. But it just makes it look its age. The plastic/glass is still a little dirty, but probably would clean-up. There is no rust on it at all though! The serial number is 540320 and both the box and transit are marked with it. The box had all of its original papers and goodies, including a Bausch and lomb magnifier, a vial of amber liquid, and the w& le plumb bob. The box has half the leather strap left, and some patina on the screws attaching the leather strap. The tripod is also in great shape, the is some rust on the metal spikes at the bottom of the legs, but that is from use and to be expected. The tripod also has 3 1/2 and 8THD on the top of it.
