up for auction and picked up from an estate is an old hand stitched log cabin type pattern with zigzag patches. it measures 74" x 61. there are many different types of fabric rectangle patches used. some textured. Velvet and silky satin. some of the silky satin patches have come loose, frayed apart or are missing. i tried to count and came up with about 33 that can be replaced and i tried to show them in the last photos. it is pretty as it is. the bottom side is a satin feel to it and is peachy pink in color. i did not see any holes or damages other than those problems with the 33 or so patches. any questions please ask and thanks for looking

It was produced by WM Harvie of Birmingham who was well renowned for making nautical lighting for ships. He also belonged to the Birmingham Art Group in the early 19th Century. This I understand was made for a Ships Cabin? possibly at 1st Class. 70" X 70" Log Cabin Quilt This is a primitive log cabin quilt. It is tied not quilted. The back is vintage fabric. see photo of one stain) The fabrics on the front are definitely from the"scrap bag" of the maker; there are all kinds of fabric, silk, rayon, cotton etc. The backing is paisley and pink roses. The quilt is hand stitched around the edge with orange floss. Looks like there have been repairs especially to some of the black bars. This is a great looking, showy primitive quilt. No rips or tears and no odor. It must have been kept in a trunk.

Very Old Hand Pieced Sewn Log Cabin Blocks Quilt Top This is very very old. From an estate, not sure of its exact age. This is a great old scrap quilt. Tons of different fabrics. Excellent placement of lights and darks for overall effect! I know there are some civil war era fabrics in it. The outside blue borders have been machine sewed on. Everything else is hand sewn. This is the top only. I don't know if it was ever quilted. There are some gorgeous cheddar. Shirting. Etc in there. There are 5 blocks that have holes. Probably from moths, I have added them and am pointing to the damage in each one, so please look carefully. Those are the last 5 pictures. I am selling this for my aunt and uncle. They are from my grandfathers farm. they came from a two story log home that was approximately 80 feet long by 25 to 30 feet wide. the original chimney stone are included although i do not have pictures of them just yet. if you are interested in pictures of the stone please let me know your email address and i will try to get them to you asap. this home was built in the early 1800s and was dismantled by my uncle. he had plans to reassemble but just never got to it. they all have been stored inside until just recently. please ask any questions you have and i will do my best to get a correct answer to you. I'd like to say a famous person made this duck but I have no idea and it actually came from a doll maker's estate sale.
