North Carolina Log Cabin Multi-color 6 1/2" Vase Due to Log Cabins pottery's short existence. A limited number of pieces of pottery where made. Offered is a 6 1/2" vase with a green, blue and cream glaze, possibly attributed to Jonah Owen. The vase has the incised cabin mark indicating that it was made by Log Cabin Pottery. Possible dates of production are from the late 1920's to the early 1930's. The vase is in overall excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. Plate#1 has a cabin on the shore of a lake with mountains in the backround. Plate#2 has a winter scene that has a cabin with blue shaded trees in the backround and a wood fence in front. There is also a tree with a bird perched on one of the branches and smaller trees. Shrubs, etc. The scenes on both plates have raised enamel detail. The border of both plates have leaves outlined in gold with an alternating diamond cut-out design also outlined in gold. Please see pictures for a better idea. The rims are trimmed in gold. The labeled glass vial is unopened and still filled with the original pills(you can hear the pills when the package is gently shaken) The original advertising flyer is wrapped around the vial inside the outer wrapper. The outer wrapper is in very good condition with trademark image of a log cabin being viewed through open curtains. The wrapper is complete with moderate age toning(darkening) on about half of the wrapper(one half must have been exposed over the past 100+ years while the other half was protected- the color in the photos is accurate) Both the top and bottom of the wrapper are partially torn open but still mostly attached. Up for auction is a vintage. Hand sewn, log cabin, patchwork quilt. It measures 84 inches by 64 inches. The colors on the front of this quilt are a lovely gray, rust, green, blue, and red. The back is a gray pin stripe. I believe that the material is made out of wool and flannel and is very heavy. If you look at photo#8, you'll see that there is some wear to the material on the back of the quilt. Otherwise, this gorgeous quilt is in excellent condition.
