I got this nice Ship's Bell from a recent estate. It is 8" diameter at the bottom and approximately 5" overall height. All pieces including clapper and bracket are non-magnetic copper/bronze. This bell is'as received and has quite a bit of patina. Along with a couple spots of light green paint. I couldn't see any markings on it, but there may be something under all the patina, I just didn't want to disturb the finish looking for something that may not be there. This is a Tuba or Sousaphone Bell Case. It will hold up to a 24" diameter Be ll. The Case is in overall good used condition. There is some normal wear but nothing too bad in my opinion. The handle and latches are in good condition. The locking latch is not attached but it is included as well as the two keys. Very old veteran bicycle bike siren nickel fork bell alarm wheel driven vintage
The siren is in good working order and unblemished. But the nickel is a little tarnished. The siren is mounted on a spring loaded arm and is engaged with a rod or wire, note, the activating rod/wire is not with the siren. The mounting plate is flat on the inside and rounded on the outer to suit front fork blade shape. When activated the siren’s serrated pulley engages with the front tyre which spins the siren to cause a loud wailing sound. The pulley is Bakelite and is worn on the outer end. What we have here is a one of a kind Ships Bell Clock employering a Hermle Quartz movement. The octagon face is from a Regulator clock that had a pendulum. I took of the bottom and bought a ships dail on ebay and also a hermle quartz movement put them togather and was so happy i made a second one for the screen room. Well the wife said one of them has to go. She's not a bad women just that i have 14 ships bell clocks in my collection around the house and i guess she's right. Vintage Bell and Howell Reproducer speaker cabinet with Rola Field Coil Speaker
For auction is a 1940’s Bell and Howell Reproducer speaker cabinet with 10” Rola K-10 Field Coil speaker. The speaker came with a projector. The speaker has two patches on the cone(see pics) The Field Coil checks out perfectly at 3000 Ohm and the Voice coil reads 2.2 Ohm. I've tested the speaker with an amp and an output transformer and it works well– no VC rub or any other issues(however. Sound being subjective I can not give any guarantees) The cabinet is a very cool canvas covered wood and aside from the handle is in good condition for its age. There are a few scratches and scrapes on the outside of the cabinet– the inside looks good a few cracks on the inside shelves and the purple corduroy lining looks good. The original speaker grill and cloth are in amazing condition as well. The case has a side drawer a little bit hidden away for inks. Botts and medicines. The case is a little bashed and shows signs of wear to the leather in the corners and such. Vintage Early Elkhart Bach Stradivarius 37 Bell Trumpet 1971 - Good Year!
Greetings and thank you for checking out this trumpet. This is a Bach Stradivarius with a 37 bell profile. With a serial number 572XX. This dates the manufacture of this horn to 1971. I am not the original owner of this horn. But I have had it for several years. I purchased it from BAC Horn Doctor, a professional dealer and repair shop located in Kentucky(If I remember correctly? They serviced the horn, removed dents and dings(there is evidence of repair work done to the back bell bow, but I don't believe it effects playability) and removed what was left of the lacquer. When I received the horn it was shiny. But it is now developing a very nice patina. I just love the look of a raw brass horn, but you could shine it up to its original reflective gleam if that's how you like your horns. Everything is original to the horn including ... morethe 2 part valve casings with the nickel upper half. The slides, the brass valve guides, and even the first valve trigger. In 1971, this would have been an optional item when ordering a new horn from the factory, and this was installed at the Bach factory. For many people the early Elkhart horns are more desirable than the late Mt. Vernon horns as Vincent Bach was very involved in the supervision of the new factory as he turned over production. He wanted to make sure his company was in good hands. This horn plays very well. I like it a lot. I just don't play it much anymore as I am now more into solo jazz and my Adams A4 goes to the gig much more often than the Bach 37. The valves work well, the slides have lots of pop to them. I don't know how to check the compression other than to listen to the"pop, but when I purchased the horn from BAC Horn Doctor, they put it on some machine and told me the 1st and 3rd valves tested at 98% and 95% sealed respectively. They said that was a very good number even for a new horn today. USED FIRE HELMET from the San Jose Fire Dept. This style was used in the late 1970's to early 1980's Has numerous scuffs and scratches. It's used but does show very nice. A great display piece The color of the helmet is still vivid and not faded. The decal on the front is in great condition. The lining on the inside is worn.
