Motorola Maxar 50 VHF-High-Band mobile radio. Under-the-dash mount, 148-155 MHz( band split(not quite sure of the exact band split) Two(2) frequency crystal controlled radio, comes with one(1) single transmit and receive crystals on 153.500 MHz. Great for Amatuer APRS! Could be converted to the 144-148 MHz Amateur Band for APRS on 144.39 MHz. THis radio has a bandwidth of 1 MHz. So it will not cover theentire 2 meter band. Additionally, rgus radiuo was order at 153.500 MHz, so retuneing this radio to the APRS frequency of 144.39 MHz is a move of over 9 MHz, so some of the tuning coils may not peak, but run out of the coil. This would require cangeing some surface mount capacitors, so the proper de-soldering and soldering tolls are highly recommended. This is a Maxon 4150 mobile VHF radio. This same radio was sold by GE under the Monogram label. This radio spent it's life as a base radio in a school office. It powers on and is in very good condition. I do not know what frequencies are programmed in the radio. I believe this radio is for wide-band operation and is not narrowband capable. It is programmable. And instructions on building your own programming interface can be found on the internet. This auction is for the radio only. There is no mounting bracket or microphone included.

Motorola MaxTrac 6M VHF Low Band Radio Ham Land Mobile
I purchased this radio from a silent-key estate sale. He had"converted" it for Ham use. It has some local repeaters programmed into it. Although I am not sure which ones they are. The bottom plate is loose, having only one screw in it that won't tighten all the way. At least one more has broken off. I got an antenna adapter and connected this to an HF antenna to see if the receiver worked. I did hear something once, but never tried to transmit as I never got around to putting up an antenna. It does have the scan function when the mic is on the hook(not included)
