Probably the most popular ham band in use today is the 2 meter band. Virtually every ham. Young and old, has this band in his or her shack. The primary focus of ham radio operation on this band is using FM(frequency modulation) The 2 meter band covers from 144 to 148 mHz. It is easily received by most scanners. It is a VHF(very high frequency) band and has the advantage of having very small antennas and being able to achieve high gain from them. Even on a city lot.This little HTX-242 FM Transceiver was removed from my 64' Karmann Ghia simply because the VW rear engine when running is too loud for any serious communication even when using the MFJ-281 Cleartone Extension Speaker. This is a pair of used UNIDEN. 10 channel Radio's, model# FPH 510D, from my fire department. They are VHF, we are 154.355 MHZ. They have model APX650 batteries, which seem to take charge OK, they are from 7/25/08. They measure over 12 volts after charging. They come with a single APX112, 120V~ fast charger, which seems to work fine. I don't know all frequencies that are programmed, but I can email you our counties standard frequencies as I suspect they are programmed channel 1-6 the same as all of our other radio's. They were replaced by new Motorola equipment that was easier to program and narrow band compliant. The units have been in storage for an unknown time. I am selling as for parts or not working.
