Hamada 234c printing press
Hamada 234c printing press with crestline dampening. This was used mainly to print envelopes/business cards/carbonless forms in our own small shop. Prints and registers excellent. We ran many 2 and 3 color jobs on this press. We have replaced it with a newer machine and need the space. Cylinders are in excellent shape. Rollers are worn but print fine. We put 2 new rollers(metering and intermediate) in each crestline about 3 months ago. The paint is scratched and worn off as shown in the pictures. Press only has 11,639,xxx impressions on it. We believe it is about a 1998 model year. Includes manuals, misc tools, washup trays, water bottles, etc. Machine is 220v single phase machine. It is in pretty fair cosmetic condition. It is mostly just fairly dirty with ink and paper dust on/in quite a bit of the unit. See photos below for more details on physical condition. We connected this press up to 220V power to test it out. The press powered on and I was able to get it to move forward and backward slowly by pressing the yellow buttons on the front. The vacuum pump works. But the vacuum at the paper intake side was not strong enough to pick up the paper. Could be due to a leak in the hoses or issue with the pump. The power on/off buttons on the front didn't have any effect on the operation of the unit. We could not get the unit to operate at full ... morespeed without manually pressing in the solenoid. I'm not sure if we are missing a safety switch or similar to make it operate properly. The press does have a Panasonic DV-700 inverter installed. I believe to operate the main press motor. It all runs very well. Included with this package is the Polyester Xante Platemaker 4 with included Postscript Level 3 built in. The plate easily fits the press and the color head. This is much less expensive to operate than an aluminum platemaker or with film. The platemaker also includes a small supply of plates: approximately 50. A plate punch is included too. The press will run at 10.000 sheets per hour. For longer runs you cannot beat an ABDick press on price per sheet or speed. It will print up to 12x18. The plates are 13x19.375.
