N.Y. 1865" and has the number 7 on it. The overall diameter is 8 3/4 inches, without the handle. The cooking surface is 7 1/2 inches in diameter. This griddle is in very good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. The pan sits flat, with no wobble. There is some roughness on the cooking surface, but I don't know if it is pitting or a molding defect. I have shown it in the photos. There is no carbon buildup and it has been lightly seasoned. The cooking surface has light stains in the heavy cast aluminum. The advertisement in the November 1955 editions of The Evening Standard and The Morning Herald describes it as, Something new, something grand. Nothing that's hit the kitchen in recent years has been so used and so useful. It broils, it grills, it bakes, it fries.
