This is a used Detecto brand Posto-Gram postal scale for parcel post. The dial says the rates are effective March 26. 1944. The scale overall has surface corrosion as shown. There is no weighing tray included to hold the object being weighed. The mechanism moves and actuates the dial, but I do not know if it is anywhere near accurate. Up for auction is a Detecto Junior scale! The date on the scale says it was patented on July 10. 1917! Made by Jacobs Bros Co. It measures about 10" across the bottom x 7" across the side 8" high where you stand on it and the clock measures 7" across! I have not really attempted to clean it because I do not want to make any of the paint come off or tarnish it. I did wipe off a layer of dust on it though. It might be off a little from old age but it seems like it would not be hard to fix. The screw that can adjust the hand on the clock can easily be moved and adjusted!
