Up for auction is a paperweight from the northern Fuel Company dated 1902 Chicago 1923. the paperweight is made of some type of metal there is very little flaking of whatever it is plated with. I would list it as veery good or better condition.The only thing wrong is the little bit of metal flaking on the very bottom edges. The size is 4 3/4" long and 2 1/8" wide and about 2" high. Up for auction is a Bgeigie Nano radiation detector with GPS logging. Designed by hackerspace volunteers in Tokyo in response to the Fukushima nuclear disaster. It uses a precision geiger-mueller tube. A phenomenal GPS, and data logging to record every 5 seconds, the radiation level, the location, and the time. Zim's artistic ability to depict light and shade with his subtle use of patterns is certainly evident in this etching. Marco Zim: Born in Moscow. Marco Zim immigrated to the United States in 1885. He studied art in New York at both the National Academy of Design, under Ward and Maynard, and the Art Students League, under George Grey Barnard, and in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. Lot of 2 Vintage WOODEN PULLYS farm, hay, barn, maritime, logging
You are bidding on two wooden pulley's from the olden days. I am not sure what these were used for but I have a few ideas. These have very large hooks on the ends about 5" by 3 inches. Steel, the single wooden pulley measures 6x4x3 and the double one measures 6 x 4 x 5. The same only one has another half added if that makes sense. As you can see in the photos. There are a few gashes and knicks and rubbed marks, scratches, etc. I suose with an item like this, that is part of the charm. Total length is about 13" They are heavy but I am sure we can get them into a one rate box. If you have any questions or concerns, please ask before bidding. Antique pole climbing spikes, VERY COOL, strap on, logging gear or electric gear
This vintage pair of climbing spikes is up for bid. There is no reserve on this bidding. So good luck. Back in the day, electricians and loggers would use these strap-on spikes for pole climbing purposes. The body of them is made out of steel, heated and shaped and fashioned to have the right angle for the spike to bite into the pole as they made their ascent. The straps are very sturdy leather, with a large buckle. These have to be put on tightly, because your life would depend on them. I believe these are from the 60's or 70's. Nowadays they have equipment that can raise a man up and down, but loggers may still use similar rigging. 16.5" tall, and the pairs weighs about 3 pounds. Offered is a lot of recently discovered images of lumber and logging operations in the early part of the 1900's in Hobart Mills. Nevada County, California. You get all the images pictured for one price. They have great content and show draft horses pulling freshly cut logs, loading logs on to a railroad flatcar, a steam donkey winch, the logging crew in front of a rustic building, etc. They are in excellent condition. The two mounted cabinet photos measure approx: 7" x 10. The smaller ones are approx: 3.5" x 5.5. Please make PayPal payment within three days of receipt of invoice. If you have a few minutes here is a great read about the lumber operations at Hobart Mills: Walter Hobart was a mining man who saw lumber production as a sideline to the Comstock Lode silver mining. The lumber company he founded ended up lasting longer ... morethan the mining did. In 1873 Nevada State Controller Walter Hobart and former Nevada and California Surveyor General Seneca"Sam" Marlette were operating a small sawmill in Little Valley. A secluded valley between Incline Village and the Washoe Valley. This sawmill cut mining timbers and shipped them to Virginia City by means of a two and half mile V flume that landed the timbers, rough lumber on the Virginia& Truckee Railroad. The partners provided a lot of the lumber and timbers being used to build the Virginia& Gold Hill Water Company flume which took water from above Incline Village and Marlette Lake through the Carson Range by tunnel. From the top of the Washoe Valley. The water went into seven miles of 12" wrought iron pipe, down 1720 feet and back up again in an inverted siphon. Both Hobart& Marlette were investors in the Water Company, and invested in Virginia City mines. The construction boss of this work was John Bear Overton who would later. vintage blacksmith hand forged tree climbing spikes spurs gaff old logging
Nice old pair of climbing spikes. Blacksmith made with forge welded hand hammered spikes. no markings that i could find. leather is very rotted with tears. one top strap is missing. they measure about 16 inches long. the spikes are about 3 inches long and the width of the boot opening is about 3 inches. these are early style as the iron straps go on the outside of the leg and the spike is on the open end. the dimensions of each vary slightly as they are hand made. I would not advise using these, They should be enjoyed as a fine antique and example of the blacksmith art.

Both bottles were dug from an early logging camp site in Northern Michigan. Bottles span the 50yr anniversary. Imagine a burly lumberjack satisfying his thirst with Coca-Cola. While chopping down a 300 year old Michigan White Pine tree. The frame is solid wood painted black. The sign is a reproduction of a vintage Coca-Cola sign. One of the Coca-Cola bottles is an authentic, 7oz. straight sided bottle used in the very early 1900’s before they went to the hobble-skirt design. Many bubbles in this bottle. This bottle has a small bruise on the base, not a chip, you can barely feel it and it is not evident when placed on the shadow box ... moreframe. Please see picture. HUGE Military Winch Heavy Duty 6X6 5 Ton Deuce Wrecker Tow Truck Crane Logging
Here is a very heavy duty mechanical winch. This is a military winch probably from a military wrecker. I had this on a boom truck and bought a crane. So I scrapped the old truck out. This winch works great and served me well. I don't know about capacity but I would guess 25 tons plus would not be overstating it. There is approximately 150-200 feet of cable on it which I replaced with new about 5 years ago. There is a sproket on the input shaft and I had it driven thru the PTO from the transmission. It has a lever to allow you to free wheel the winch to manually pull the cable off. I can load it on your truck or trailer for free or if you need it shipped I can band it to a pallet and deliver it to a depot for extra cost. If you pay for it, it would be OK to leave it here for a while until you have time to come and get it.
